What is a good coverup makeup foundation that don't make you look made up?

Any make-up foundation when not applied properly will make you look made up. And having chosen the wrong color for your skin tone will even make it worse. So I suggest you choose a color one number lighter than your natural color. Practice applying it. Very sheer and even. Practice until you are satisfied with results. Try it with whatever kind and brand you presently have. What is a good coverup makeup foundation that don't make you look made up?
I use Rimmel foundation and powder. Oh god, I'm a Rimmel whore! What is a good coverup makeup foundation that don't make you look made up?
I don't know, good skin?

~Just My 0.02
Rimmel works really well. I just started using it and i was surprised at how easily it went on and how little i had to use. It looks so natural. I don't know what skin tone color you have, but i use sand
Mary Kay. And fundation, and powder
this product called bare essentials it looks so natural
Bare Escentuals!!! My mom has dark spots on her skin, and that is what she uses to cover up and look more natural!
Absolutely without a doubt, Bare Minerals!!!!

I have tried everything over the years and it is the best.

You can get it at Sephora, online or over the phone (tv infomercial)

It ROCKS!!! And it does not make you break out.
I really love Neutrogena's new Mineral Sheers Bronzer. It also comes in powders. I find that the bronzer acts like a foundation. It's light and looks natural, not at all cakey or made up! I never wear foundation for that reason, I like to look natural and not have all of those gross, cakey lines, you know!? Anyway, try it, I think you'll like it.
There is nothing better than MAC Studio Fix. Nothing.
Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals.

It's a powder foundation, lasts all day, doesn't clog your pores, covers like a liquid, but doesn't feel like you are wearing anything. Everyone I know asked me what I did to my skin to make it look so good - they thought I wasn't wearing any makeup!

I swear by it.

They sell it in infomercials, but you can also buy it online and there are some stores throughout the country that sell it. Try doing a google search for it first.

Need Pale Foundation: Is Estee Lauder Double Wear Shell paler than Make Up Forever HD 107?

I tried Make Up Forever HD Foundation in 107, the palest shade. However, it is too dark and orange on my pale skin. Is Estee Lauder Double Wear in Shell paler than that shade? Or do you have any other recommendations for foundation for pale skin. I don't want mineral make-up, although it's what I normally wear, because I need foundation for my wedding that will work well in photography.Need Pale Foundation: Is Estee Lauder Double Wear Shell paler than Make Up Forever HD 107?
Try Make Up Forever Mat Velvet +. The colour I bought is ';alabaster'; and trust me I am super pale but this is too pale for me. The velvet + collection has a big range of paler colours in yellow and pink undertones.

When building a house out of make-up, should I start with the foundation?

Well you're going to have to ';clear the land ';first. I recommend a gentle dermabrasion and then a deep moisturizer before that foundation. This question makes me blush !When building a house out of make-up, should I start with the foundation?
I would first use a concealor in the trouble areas first, then move on to the foundation. When building a house out of make-up, should I start with the foundation?
so not funny.
duh
Exfoliate first.
You're funny.
Yep....Revlon
the foundation is key...but, more key is what you build your foundation out of...that can make it or break it....house built on sand won't stand... :)
wtf? I guess q-tips
Well I would fill in any parts that look uneven with concealer and then foundation everything. You can get fake eyelashes to help hold things up. Lipstick to paint it, Lip gloss to make it shiny and eye shadow to gently color the ceiling.

Oh I forgot! Make sure the land has a little moisturizer on it because you don't wanna hit some dry spots.
yes you should,

everything starts with a good foundation
And you work your way all the way up to powder.
lol haha ive heard that one!!!!!! =D
Of cause !! How else would you start
I'd put some filler in first to fill out the cracks before the foundation as it will just gather in the cracks and just highlight them.
Yes:)
absolutely

but where to go from there?
not forgetting some good gloss to give the exterior a quick lick!
yes,water proof based.
i would moisturize first. foundation alone could dry things out and crack...then the whole house is faulty
no its usually not flat, start with the blusher
Best way to start, smart question
yes
lol cute..then some primer

Is foundation good to hide spots? (make-up question)?

Hello I never used foundation or compact powder before, because I never needed.

But now in pregnancy, I am getting lots of spots all over my face!! 

Is it a good idea to use make up to hide during the day?

Is foundation good to hide spots? (make-up question)?
idkIs foundation good to hide spots? (make-up question)?
hi there, i'm 36w3d pregnant :) i deff know what you mean about the spots on your face and the discoloration. i had them earlier on in my pregnancy and i used concealer to cover them up...if they were bad enough. but i'm not sure if your having a problem with acne in your pregnancy? i have never had more than 4 zits on my face at a time and since becomming pregnant i'v had bad acne. so now i stay away from face make up. however, you should try a loose mineral powder. it works great!!. the foundation made me break out and so did the compact powders. (i never needed them before either). if your self concious about the spots i say cover them up. concealers work real well. good luck to you and with your pregnancy :)
cement will cover them better as will liquid latex, plaster or face mask
Yeah i think it will work. I use dream matte mouse to cover mine when i get them, then i take my makeup off at night so it doesnt stay in my pores all night.
Concealer is what you need...too much foundation can also cause spots...

I would say the best one to get is Clear Complexion by Rimmel London only £3.68 !!! what a bargain !!!! lol

    hope that helped !
in pregnant woman there hormone is very active thats why some have acne on there face, black spots and oily skin cause of the estrogen hormone.

*choose a compact powder that prevents oil in the face, has a label of vitamin e. and ohh make sure you choose the right texture color of the foundation that you will buy =)
la roche posay have a brilliant concealer... its called ';movie ___'; its v v good and has ';studio'; coverage, you can't even see the bumps under your skin with it... they use it in film sorry i can't think of the second name of it!
    Hey,

I think you should use a concealer so it doesn't cover your whole face then try dusting over a foundation powder like -

    http://www.superdrug.com/content/ebiz/superdrug/invt/385980/385980_l.jpg

Also make sure you keep your face clean to stop the spots getting worse.

I hope you found this useful

    X

All I can say is make sure you get one that doesnt block your pores, or it will make your skin worse.
    use concealor and mineral foundaton.
Foundation is great for that! Since you're never tried it before, I suggest something natural and lightweight. The Body Shop has GREAT foundation, and it's natural so it doesn't break your skin out any. I used to use Lancome, but it's about $40 and I'd rather use The Body Shop (same amount of coverage, half the price!) You can go to any cosmetic counter and try their foundation. They will show you how to apply it. When you find one that you like, don't buy it immediately. Wear it for a few hours to see how it lasts and how your skin reacts to it. Then, if you like it, go back and purchase it. I also suggest a tinted moisturizer under your foundation.
i really dont think its a good idea to put face make-up on spots because itll generally just make them worse. if they cant ';breathe'; theyll just last longer, and clogging your pores with heavy make-up will mean youll get more and more! it ends up as a vicious circle...

if you get really self conscious about them then i agree with the person that suggested just a loose mineral powder, as these are much lighter than foundation or compact powder. dont forget of course that your doctor will probs be able to prescribe an effective cream to combat spots -- theres probably even a specific cream for pregnancy-spots! exfoliating your face regularly will also help cause it removes dead skin that spots luuurve.

my best wishes for your new baby. good luck!
No use concealer to hide spots, it has a thicker consistancy and is basically made to hide blemishes...Foundation is for all over face to give a better look to the skin all over :)

kabuki brush. I used to use the gross kind but then I got a kubuki. It really evens out the power and makes it look so much smoother and real on your skin. Also, if you apply the foundation in circles with the brush, you can create an airbrushed look!Which make up tool is better to use for mineral foundation?
kabuki brush if u use mineral powder

QUO Brushes- $12-30, if ur using mineral liquid foundation

use brushes, no sponges, pads because sponges absord all the foundation- waste!, brushes dont, ttheyre soft and allow coverage over skin u can ask a cosmetic consultant in a cosmetic department of shoppers drug mart, walmart or other stores that ur city has

    hope this helps
I asked my girlfriend, and without her evenknowing that kabuki brush was an option, she picked kabuki. I don't know what a kabuki brush is... so good luck.
I love a flat top brush it gives great coverage and apply it smoothly and evenly

Do you think girls need make-up. (blush, foundation, eye-liner, etc.)?

Do you think we need blush?Do you think girls need make-up. (blush, foundation, eye-liner, etc.)?
Depending on skin tone. Fair complected girls without much color look better with blush and eye-liner. Girls with un-even skin-tone look better with foundation. I've seen olive skinned girls who look awesome with no makeup! It just depends on the girl, her age, skin-tone and confidence level.Do you think girls need make-up. (blush, foundation, eye-liner, etc.)?
makeup has been created for girls...so yeah we need it =]

and putting on a little blush makes you look younger and cuter ^^
I think it is fun to put on makeup. I like different colors of eyeshadow and different ways to put makeup on, it is all fun. I agree, it depends on the girl and how well it is put on. I wear foundations because I look like a ghost without it. That is the only think that makes me feel insecure is how ghostly pale I am. I just wear a foundation that blend REALLY well, and matches the rest of my skin. Then the eyes, I love putting on eyeliner and colors! Blush, that is the thing. I wear blush and I can't stop. I feel like I am putting it on light enough, I really never know and I am hoping it looks good. If I were to stop wearing part of the makeup I put on, it would be blush, you have to really practice to make sure it is not too much. As for lips, I just wear chapstick now, I started that a few days ago really. I use to wear colors, but now I am making my lips look pale yet smooth. I want my eyes to be the most dramatic.
Generally, yes. However, not a heavy application. A light coat of mascara and a bit of blush is all you need unless you have really blotchy skin - then add a very light coat of foundation. Do you ever watch Carmindy on What Not To Wear?
I think makeup is ok if its natural. Makeup is suppose to ENHANCE not cover up. I have nice cheek bones, big eyes and nice lips. So I wear a light touch of bronze creme eye shadow, and I sometimes curl my lashes and throw on a clear mascara, lip balm, and a natural color blush and bronzer on my cheeks and I still look natural but it just makes my best features pop! So I think make up is ok, as long as your not covering up anything.
well some of us need make up to make them selves confidant.
no, not really. it does help accentuate the features.

%26amp; I think its polite to wear make up evenif its' just a little. some people do go a bit overboard though. It's all in the appliation.
I don't really think we should use blush unless it's for a special occasion until our like 20's in my opinion it makes teenagers look kinda dumb if it's noticeable but there's nothing wrong with putting on some make-up if it makes girls feel pretty
no but it makes me feel pretty :)
I don't think you need any of it.

I think its stupid how females want guys to like them for themselves, yet are always keeping who they are hidden.
Personally I like wearing blush because it defines my high cheek bones more. But I hardly ever wear eye-liner and some people can really over kill on their eye makeup. A little mascara can go a long way. Personally I like how mascara makes people's eyes pop more, but adding eye liner only dulls down your eyes.
people want make-up it is not a need usually it is used to mask how girls do not feel confident in the real skin

but i still love my make-up
i dont wear any makeup, besides lip gloss. but i dont think lip gloss is make up. all girls need lip gloss. but besides that, no. they dont need anything. girls my age pile it on and they look loke tradhy or like ompaa loompas. they dont know how bad they look. so go with the safe side. dont wear any.
I鈥檓 going to assume it鈥檚 a girl asking this question.

I think it depends on the individual. There are those who have natural beauty and need almost none. There are some girls (like myself) where a little goes a long way and there are those who need all the help they can get.

Blush is good for making your cheek bones more defined and in some circumstances make your face look skinnier. The most important thing is that its put on right, sometimes it can make a girl look as though she is permanently blushing if not done correctly.

Ultimately what鈥檚 most important is the beauty you have on the inside. Physical beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, plus guys have different tastes (beauty is in the eye of the beholder). Some men may consider the typical barbie blonde with lots of makeup as the ultimate beauty while others may consider a curvy natural brunette as the ultimate dream girl.

Just do what suits you best and be yourself. If wearing makeup makes you more confident than go ahead, but if you鈥檙e a bit of a tomboy and don鈥檛 like wearing makeup than don鈥檛 put any on. I know a guy who hates makeup and is more attracted to the naturally beautiful girls.
i don't think girl's need makeup if they do that means they don't think they' re beautiful enough. And so whats the point of makeup, you should just be proud of who you are.
I don't understand why people say wearing make-up means you are insecure...nearly every girl past the age of 13 dyes or highlights her hair, spends money on nice clothing and jewlery and perfume and haircuts....wearing make-up is all a part of enjoying your femininity...

Do I think we NEED it? No. But we also don't NEED to whiten our teeth or work out or pierce our ears. But I love all of it! Being able to pull off so many different types of looks and styles depending on our mood is what makes being a girl so fun!
I think that if you have naturally beautiful skin, let it shine! Don't cover it up with fake cake to make it ';look better'; The more natural you can make your makeup look, while enhancing your natural beauty, the better. (Less is more!)
depends on how comfortable and confident you are with yourself. me, i dont use blush. just a little bit of eyeliner sometimes. i think its a waste to spend sooo much time trying to cover up our whole faces. we should let our natural beauty shine. if you want to make your cheeks pink, ask ur grandma to pinch em lol
no we dont need it!! i seems like i get hit on more without it but it makes us feel better about are selfs
    depends on the girl.....
I don't wear it for everyday. Just if I want to cover up any redness %26amp; chapstick or a sheer lipgloss. I think it's fun for going out or occasions but, there are easy ways to keep it looking natural ;)
ehh it all depends on them

New job nd i can't wear make-up little foundation if ne now my ? how do i get a flawless look without it?

i love mixing my maybelline's dream matte mousse with my favorite clean %26amp; clear moisturizer...it gives a fresh, clean look without looking fake or uneven...it makes me appear air-brushed.

just mix equal parts of your preferred foundation (i'd recommend a cream foundation rather than a liquid) with a good sheer moisturizer. (i love 'morning burst' by clean %26amp; clear)

and smooth over your face. if you still don't think you're 'fresh'-faced enough, go out %26amp; buy NYC's Lengthening Mascara (only $2 or so)...it is the most natural looking mascara i've ever used. (and i've tried 20+ different mascaras, all in search of a 'natural' black lash.) it's not too heavy and it makes your lashes long and dark...perfect for daytime.

a little lip-balm and you're good to go.

(and if i may ask; what job is this? i've never heard of a job where you couldn't wear cosmetics...not that i'm contradicting you or anything, i'm just curious ;)New job nd i can't wear make-up little foundation if ne now my ? how do i get a flawless look without it?
Are you not allowed to wear any whatsoever, or do you just have to LOOK like you aren't wearing any? Have you tried any of the new powder foundations out there like Bare Escentuals? Its extremely light coverage but just enough to even things out, although you may have to try out a few brands to find one that gives you enough coverage. If you can't even wear that much, can you at least do a little concealor to even out any areas of redness or blemishes or wear some powder? What about a tinted/mattifying moisturizer so you'll still look finished without technically wearing much makeup?New job nd i can't wear make-up little foundation if ne now my ? how do i get a flawless look without it?
I'd highly advise use of a good skin care routine %26amp; not have to worry about pimples or any minor imperfections that can come up. then I'd get on some mineral foundation - not as seen on tv. they're filled with bismuth %26amp; will eventually do more harm than good. Smokymountainminerals.com may be the answer you're looking for. They've got a veil you can use %26amp; not even have to wear make-up %26amp; look good. It's white, is sold as a make up before or after product, but can be used instead.
Try coloured face primers from Bourjois. Use liquid concealer wherever needed . Follow with loose powder

Tinted lipbalm on lips and vaseline sparingly.

Or Try Mineral Foundation %26amp; mineral blush ( from Revlon). It looks natural and you have coverage for 16 hrs. Lash darkener if you are blond/redhead. If brunette , you can get away with mascara. Eyebrows groomed with brow gel.
Try puritycosmetics.co.uk. It is really good!
well nobody will be able to tell you are wearing it if you wear it the right way.

I have acne, and can't seem to find a good foundation that will cover it all up without looking ';cakey';. I'd like a good foundation that covers up and is not bad for my skin. I'd like something that works and will not make me break out even more.

First off i think you should try to treat your acne before you put on the foundation. But if your not you should try to gert a foundation that is for your skin type. They have foundations for people with oily skin, dry skin.combination,etc. I would probably use the liquid or the foundation whichever one is thick enough to cover the acne. I recommend using the MAC brushes they are expensive though.
I know this sounds werid but clinique ';anti-aging'; works really good for covering up acne. i use that to cover up my acne and then i use a clinque bronzer over it.
I agree with the person above. Clinique has nice foundation.

How can you set liquid foundation with a powder finnish with out looking like u have to much make up on?

Use a powder brush instead of a puff. Also, I think that loose powder is much more natural looking than pressed powder. Pressed powder actually has wax in it (that's what keeps it together) and it can look cakey plus it isn't very good for your skin. How can you set liquid foundation with a powder finnish with out looking like u have to much make up on?
apply with a wet sponge to get a sheer coverage. Pat powder over. Best to avoid this altogether, use concealer where you need it only. How can you set liquid foundation with a powder finnish with out looking like u have to much make up on?
use a sheer powder, such as bare essentials. It works pretty great, just bought some myself.
In my youth I took a short term modeling class that included how to correctly apply makeup. After you put on the powder, take a soft tissue and gently and lightly wipe your face with it (don't use a lot of pressure). This will remove the excess powder and leave your makeup looking softer.
    Put a little bit...

I suck at putting make up on actually.. stick with natural beauty is the best.
bare essentuals. ID. no need for liquid. find it and get a makeup lesson. you'll love it!!!
maybe put it on a spounge or put it on lighter
I love to set my foundation with MAC Fix+, it is a spray for 15.00 but it dries quickly and really make it look flawless. I was skeptical at first but now I am a slave to the Fix+
Use a light layer of foundation and corn starch is good for setting makeup without a heavy looking powder finish.
The best way is to use a brush so you can control it with just a light dusting. Not a pressed powder.
only apply in places where your skin is red or shiny.
    go easy on the powder
right when you put foundation and powder on, you should take a piece of toilet paper and dab your face. dont rub it, dab it, so all the makeup doesnt come off. what this does is that it sets your make up in a liilte and then later on in the day if your sweat, you wont have making dripping down your face, and it wont make your skin oily. i hope i helped! good lucK!
Apply liquid foundation lightly over face. Sprinkle a little powder in your lid, then use a large make up brush in the lid. This way you can avoid getting too much powder. Lightly brush on your powder, making sure your T-zone isn't shiney. This will then set your make up! Good Luck.
I am a male but I do drag on Halloween (sure to get alot of thumbs down for that).

Anyway, I bought liquid foundation to match my skin tone. I put on two coats of that, all over my face, neck, and top of my chest. You will probably only need one coat if you are a female.

Next, I bought a powder that is a shade lighter than my skin tone and put that all over my face, neck, upper chest. Only do this once or else it looks really fake. Also, try not to go too light or else you will look like a porcelain doll or a geisha.

Next, I use a blush on my cheeks. This takes the longest, because I want to had reddened cheeks but not too red. It has to blend in.

After that, I do my eyes.

After my eyes, I get dressed, then put on the wig. If I am driving in drag, I wear sneakers than change into my heels once I am about to enter where ever I am going.
my mom sells mary kay and they have a great creme-to-powder foundation. its goes on creamy and dries to a matte/powder finish. you can find it on marykay.com
Let the liquid foundation dry a little bit and then set it with powder by using a brush to apply it.

If you use a pad it'll just smear it everywhere. Swirl it in the powder and just apply.

Dumb Question: Can you tell me about make-up? Like what is Powder, Concealer, and Foundation?

I wanna use powder but do you have to use concealer or foundation with or before it?

Whats the difference between powder, concealer, and foundation anyways. What order do you put it on?Dumb Question: Can you tell me about make-up? Like what is Powder, Concealer, and Foundation?
concealer, foundation, powder is the correct order :)

    concealer brightens and covers imperfections

    foundation smooths and evens out

powder makes it all look naturalDumb Question: Can you tell me about make-up? Like what is Powder, Concealer, and Foundation?
Concealer does what it sounds like. Conceals, or hides your imperfections, like blemishes, dark circles, evens out your skin tone, etc.

Foundation can be used all over the face in place of a concealer if you don't have that many imperfections you need to 'conceal'. It's great for evening out your skin tone as well. Foundation however, comes in different forms. You can get a liquid foundation, or a powder foundation, which is the powder you were probably talking about. BUT, sometimes powder doesn't necessarily mean foundation. Blush usually comes in a powdered form, as well as bronzer. Blush makes your cheeks nice and rosy, bronzer can be used all over the face for a more tan look.

Personally, I don't like putting any product on my face without primer first. You don't have to do this but it's what I like to do. Primer just 'primes' your face giving it a nice base coat for whatever make-up you're putting on. It usually comes in a liquid/cream form.

What you should do is put concealer on first, and then foundation whether it's in powder form or liquid form, it doesn't matter. Follow that with a little blush or bronzer, and you're golden =) !
what i usuallly do is put on concealer, then foundation, then powder...

foundations is used to cover uneven spots and sometimes has coverage too

powder is used to set your makeup soo it stays in place

concealer is used to conceal acne, undereye cicrles, wrinkes, ect

you can use powder foundation i use mac mineralize skin finish you can use this as a foundation if your looking for medium coverage and to make your skin look good.
    Concealer goes on first

it hides blemishes and lightens your face. it should be used sparingily only if you have dark circles around your eyes, acne or anything else you want to hide

foundation is next. it is used only to even out your skin. only for that reason. do not use it as a cover up. this is a common mistake most girls make. dot the foundation all around your face before blending it into your skin becasue it makes for a more even layer.

Powder is used to hide any spots on your face that oily/ shiny or any last min cover up. but you should not cover your entire face with it.
It looks ALOT better with foundation and concealer under the powder.

Without it, the powder wont give hardly any coverage and will fade.

What you do is spread foundation evenly over your face, then put some concealer on the blemishes or under-eye circles and dab it in (dont rub it in because it will just rub it off)

Then use powder over it for full coverage=)
this is my way on how to put it on

    1. concealer- under eyes and to cover up zits, pimples, blemishes etc.

    2. foundation- all over face down to neck (so it doesn't look like u have mask on)

    3. powder- to set foundation(so it stays longer in your face and gives it a natrual sheen)

that is my way on what i do to put it on and of cource before everything you should wash your face and apply moisterizer hope this helped bye
Concealer: Comes in flesh tones to conceal acne, green to reduce redness, yellow to camouflage under eye circles or bruises. Usually in a stick form. Only get it if you have discoloration issues that foundation alone can't help. Ex. My nose gets red, but my foundation covers it, so I don't need a green concealer.

Powder: Usually shear and used to absorb oils. If you don't have bad acne marks or severe discoloration, it is perfectly fine to use this alone. Usually won't cover acne marks at all, so if you have some of those, get concealer as well (unless your acne on your forehead or in your hairline and your hair covers it, like me.)

Foundation: Can come in many different forms (liquid, mineral, cream, spray, powder, ect...). Foundation is good for an overall balance of skin color as long as it's not bad.

My suggestion to you: Physicians Formula Powder Palette Multi-Colored Face Powder in Highlighter.

    Link: http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.a鈥?/a>

Works as a two in one (or six in one). Colors:

Yellow to reduce awkward purple tones on the skin.

    Green to reduce redness.

Flesh tone to do a simple overall evening of color.

    Pink to add brightness.

Purple to cancel out any awkward yellow tones.

White to act as a translucent powder to simply absorb oil.
I think the other answerers explained enough already.

As for powder, I would suggest using only powder if your skin is great to begin with. If not, powder is only going to look cakey and unnatural and it's not really going to do much.
powder is another form of foundation actually. the main difference is one is liquid and one is not but foundations give your skin and even tone and conceler is just for concealing things lol like zits or scars or birth marks
Powder is dry, concealor is used for small flaws and foundation is liquid. You dont have to put it in order, i always use just one. Put concealer then foundation then powder.
Of course u can just use powder :]

as for the order of things that u would apply first ; i usuallly conceal, than use foundation and top it off with my powder..

if u want to see how other put of makeup you should search it on youtube :]
yeah cover up all the dark areas with the concealer or the imperfections like around the nose the redness pimple marks all the imperfections than foundation n last translucent or loose powder all over to really finish the look...hope i helped

    Foundation Help? (Make-up)?

Hi guys. Wondered if anyone could tell me a great foundation to use. I would like to try a powder as liquid and mousse never looks natural on me. I have olive skin and brown eyes. I'm not asking for a particular shade, just a brand. Are mineral powders any good?

Oh yeah, and it has to be affordable (the good side of a tenner preferably - I am a student) also, available to buy in the UK.

I ask a lot don't I? Maybe so, but I will reward best answer if you can tell me why a certain brand is good.

Thanks in advance girlies!Foundation Help? (Make-up)?
I love mineral foundations. Just wander into boots or superdrug and try the samples there, Most seem pretty good. The thing about powder is that the coverage is pretty light, but you can layer it up if you need to.

My only problem is I'm very pale, and nearly all of them only come in shades of brown/orange so they just look like dirt on me. But you should be able to find a good one pretty easily with olivey skin.

Most of the main brands seem pretty decent, though some are rather more expensive than others., but they're all pretty similar. Its mostly colour for me. I can't give too much of a recommendation, cause I haven't tried most of them, and I order mine from America :)

But superdrug have student discount, and I think boots do too?Foundation Help? (Make-up)?
Go to your nearest BareEscentuals store and ask them what your skin tone is. They'll give you the perfect match of powder Bare Minerals Foundation for you.

    Here's their website:

I use Mary Kay foundation and Mineral Powder. I loveee the mineral powder because it looks very natural :)

  • Foundation, powder? make up help!?

Some people I know that wear foundation rub it in and theyre done. Leave the house, get on with the day. No powder, maybe a little blush, but thats it! I can never do this! I feel sticky if you like and that if I touch my face it will all just come right off.

Normally, I use a compact, put a little of that on, then with a sponge apply a little foundation, wait for it to dry then brush a little baby powder over it ( a LITTLE) so Im not white, but so I dont feel like my face is sticky. and that I can touch it without rubbing off my make up.

I realise using baby powder isnt the best way to go about it, but Ive tried a few powders which were just rubbish.

Can anyone recommend a good powder, alternative, anything!?? What are you supposed to use over foundation?

Any tips or advice is much appreciated, thanks!

    xxFoundation, powder? make up help!?
You're supposed to wear loose powder over your foundation to set it if you're using liquid or cream foundation. Makes your makeup last longer!

Try mineralized powders (you can try to look for one that doesn't contain talc - less likely to irritate your skin).

For me, my final step is always to dust on Laura Mercier's silky Loose Setting Powder (http://www.lauramercier.com/products/fla鈥?/a> with my trusty Bobbi Brown kabuki brush. Makeup stays on all day!Foundation, powder? make up help!?
I don't use a powder or anything over my foundation but it all depends on your preference. Unless you have oily skin you shouldn't need a powder. It sounds to me that you are not choosing the right foundation. When I apply foundation (I use a foundation brush instead of a sponge and it works amazingly) it goes into a matte finish and doesn't feel at all like it will rub off. I like to buy the foundations that come in a little pot and then dip my brush in and apply it and blend it with the brush.

If I understand you correctly you are applying powder and then foundation? If this is so, try applying the foundation directly over moisturized skin. Hope this helps!
I Like the new Mineral foundations that are out on the market now. I used to use a liquid foundation also but felt the same way u do about feeling 'sticky' so i now buy the Loreal Mineral Powder/Dust foundations. This works great and there is no need for any type sealer, it is all in one.

But if you still prefer liquid foundations a good tip i found is if u do use a pressed powder on top to apply these with a blush type brush applicator instead of the pad they supply. This gives it a fresher look and does not 'rub' your foundation off.

    Good Luck
hey i use mayballine matte mouse for foundation

    http://images1.reviewcentre.com/sent-in/鈥?/a>

its really light and stays on a long time. After i apply my foundation I put a little bronzer on to give me a little more color. I usually use Rimmel natural bronzer

    http://www.cibelle.pt/img/rimmel/natural鈥?/a>

    hope this helps!
the first thing to have pretty foundation skin is the prep

have a good face washer and moisterizer and if you got money a $20-30 amount primer from mac that prepers your face for make up go to youtube and type in make up routine
Use foundation or come concealer first (it ';sticks'; to your skin better) then use face powder. It will help ';set'; it. It's kinda a trial and error process since everyone has different skin but I like Cover Girls powder myself.
do you have to use foundation?try using concealer in the places you really need it then using a powder to control shine and even things out.

i never use foundation because of that heavy sticky feeling and i think foundation looks too over done i can always tell when a woman has foundation on and it rarely looks good
Try puritycosmetics,co,uk. It is really good!
I love Clarins. They're products are pricey, but definitely worth it.
I would use MAC make-up if I were you, definately.
Loose powder or a compact powder is ideal for liquid foundation. It sets the foundation so to speak. Have you tried meneral make up? Its amazing. Long lasting and not sticky!
Mineral powder by Loreal is fab.

You dont need to wear any foundation with this.

It lasts all day, and makes your skin feel really silky.

    It costs around 拢8.

Foundation or make-up for extremely pale skin?

I have extremely pale skin (almost paper white), and I wanted to know of a brand I can get hold of that sells foundation for people with literally white skin. I don't want anything like Stargazer, because I'm using it at the moment and it's ****. Also, I'm not a huge Twilight fan, but I really admire Bella's skin tone... how could I get my skin and my eyes like that? I've already got naturally dead-white skin, but I don't have hugely dark circles around my eyes.

I live in the UK, so any American brands, not available for England will be off limits.

Any tips?Foundation or make-up for extremely pale skin?
if you dont need that much foundation, use rimmel stay matte pressed powder in 001 transparent- i bought because i thought it would go on TRANSPARENT but its really light!

if you do need some heavy coverage make up- mac studio sculpt in NC15 its realy good

    http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/templates/鈥?/a>

as for the bella thing try getting a good eyeliner like Mac Fluidline in black and put it ontop and the bottom of your eyes then get a slightly larger brush and blend it

    hope i helped

xFoundation or make-up for extremely pale skin?
I have this problem. Im like twilight vampire pale. I had to have foundation imported from china for my face. But then maybelline dream matte mouse brought out their palest foundation ever. Its shade 004 CHAMPAGNE it is still rather dark for me but im ver very pale but i just put my white powder over the top of it and it looks fine.

Trust me i had to pay 拢70 for special foundation until i found this. As i said if you are as pale you will need white powder to make it match.
Don't fake dark circles, that's actually quite silly.

I'm not sure about paper white skin, you'll just have to google something like 'goth foundation'. I have enough trouble looking for a foundation light enough for me, and I'm not nearly as pale as alot of people I know. I use L'Oreal True Match in Alabaster.
The red haired girl from Girls Aloud brought out a makeup for white skin. Perhaps you could google it and try it as I dont know the brand. What about trying mineral makeup such as Bare Essentuals, if there is a debenhams store near you they have a counter there and could try it out on you to see if that is suitable, its very natural.
Try Covergirl, if thats available for England of course.

I have fairly pale skin too, and that's what I use. Foundation wise I'm not to sure, but I know you can pressed powder in very light shades.

Pressed powder is face powder in a compact format, and works just as well as foundation :)
im super pale as well..ive been using Dinair Airbrush Makeup for the past few years and its the only foundation that ive found that doesnt make my skin look orangish....which all other pale foundations have done on me. Its also all water based so its not bad for ur skin. i LOVE it...if u just google Dinair you'll find their site and u can look through it...hope i helped...=)
i dont know if you can get it in the uk but if you can. try revlon color ivory. i have paper white skin and i use that. for the dark eyes, put black eye liner all around your eyes and smudge it. dont look too much to make you look dead lol
You should go to a department store like Sephora or Ulta. Their awesome and they test the makeup on you and everything for free!

Check out my blog where I spill the beans about my kinda fashion, makeup, and hair
try maybolline dream matt mouse, just around the eyes

i'd go for the ivory one, but they have lots, just try them out

and for the bella thing, she wears very little eye makeup, some mascara and eyeliner at most :)

Try L'Oreal True Match. It's super white. I don't know if they have the same shades in the UK that they have in the US, but you could always buy it off ebay or swap for it on makeupalley.com
    almay smart shade

    either light or very light

what it does is it picks up your skin shade and matches it perfectly

    please answer mine

i'm not sure if its available in the UK but i have nearly white skin too and use covergirl foundation in the lightest shade and then over it put physicians formula organic pressed powder
try for colors called porcelain ivory or try transparent its completely colorless but conceals well or get a tan
    try mac or estee lauder.

go to their conter and ask for help.
Bare minerals!! They have a shade just for your skin type. Go online to bareminerals.com.

    Hiya,

I'm not sure if you want to achieve a summer glow or just have a nice fresh base but I'll give you tips for both.

To create a soft yet bedazzling summer glow try applying a small amount of light matte rimmel sun shimmer...It's great for an all day look because it stays on until you literally scrub it off.

Dab a small amount of very very light liquid concealer under your eyes to brighten your eye shape and give you a wider surface under your eyes.

Pale skin is actually very beautiful, so if you want to maintain your paleness and just spice it up a bit...you can use the concealer trick...and then apply a pinkish brownish bronzer that just lays gently across the face and then powder some glitter on your forehead and cheek bones for a glow.

Use light mascara to maintain the beauty of pale skin because pale skin and thick black mascara looks tacky and overbearing.

Good Luck, Hope I helped sweet cheeks.

Remember PALE is IN, Never let anyone tell you different.

What's the step-by-step in applying make up? Primer first then the liquid foundation then what?

I mean the final touch up to make the skin radiant...ThanksWhat's the step-by-step in applying make up? Primer first then the liquid foundation then what?
1.) Start with clean, prepped face. (Medication, Moisturizer if you need it, Sunblock, [Always!], Anti-Shine, etc.)

2.) Lightly spead primer onto all areas you want to cover with foundation.

3.) Apply foundations starting in middle of your face, tapering to very light coverage to the jawbone and hairline.

4.) Set foundation with light dusting of loose powder

5.) Apply blush. If powder, cover all area of brush, ';Pop'; in apple of your cheek and blend slightly outward and upwards, but use a light touch so that you don't have harsh streaks. If cream, dab on apple and blend with your fingers in the same way.

6.) If you want a light airbrushed look, use a pearly highlighter on top of your cheekbones and sweep above eyes. Also run brush lightly across forehead, down bridge of nose and tip of chin.

For a summer look, use a brozer instead, and apply exactly the same.

7.) Do your eyes. (Don't forget your eyebrows.)

    8.) Finish with lips.

9.) If shiny again dust more loose powder on your oily zones. What's the step-by-step in applying make up? Primer first then the liquid foundation then what?
well first your primer should be a good moisturizer and next it doesnt always have to be a liquid foundation. I actually think that mineral pressed foundation covers just as good but leaves your face so smooth looking. Next comes your eyes than your cheeks. Its all about choosing the right colors for your skin tone. If you feel like your skin is looking dull and sallow after you apply your foundation you might want to switch to a different brand. Or apply a bronzer to give your skin that glow. Try christimarcosmetics.com. They have a great mineral foundation line and their bronzer is the best I have ever used. Trust me you wont regret it.
I would say it goes in this order:

    -moisturizer

    -blot off excess with tissue

-primer [if you need it to fill in large pores]

-foundation [liquid or power or cream, whatever you prefer]

-use loose powder to lightly dust your whole face, brush off excess also

-lightly spray your whole face with a face mist [ei. Evian spray or Vichy or just any other spray...must be in arosal can, not in a pump] THIS will give you a fresh glow... and really even out your makeup
check the links below for beauty tips to:-- Makeup - how to apply.--step-by-step

This is what I usually do - not sure if a make-up artist would say it was correct but it is a shot lol!!!

I wash my face (I use the Clinique 3 step thing)

    toner

    moisturize

    wait a few minutes

    concealer and primer etc

    base/foundation

    powder

    cheeks

    eyelids

    brows and finally

    lips
Professionally I do in this order: Primer, liquid foundation, conceal any flaws, shadow, eyeliner, mascara, blush, lips. I finish with a mineral foundation for coverage and glow. I like to highlight cheeks with Highbeam by Benefit. Best of luck.

first of all u should exfoliate ur face 2 or 3 times a week. since u have dry patchy skin use cream type moisturiser instead of lotion type. i love Mac hyper real cos it makes my skin glow and dewy looking. finish it wif studio fix powder.ask for sample at the counter. this way u know wats good and suit ur skin.

    * mix honey and youghurt- as face mask
you should use dove sensitive skin body wash or use aveno lotion or dove lotion.
i do this all the time....before you put on anything fill the sink with cold water. hold your breathe and put your head under until you need to take a breathe again. pat dry. then put aveeno daily moisturizer on your skin. let dry for a few minutes then dap on foundation that's lighter than your normal skin tone so when you put it on your red spots they wont turn orange. then put a press powder over your whole face to even out your skin tone. i do this too and it works for me so i hope it works for you.

How good is make up forever's HD foundation?

if you could tell me how well it works it would be great :)How good is make up forever's HD foundation?
I just bought it and before I bought it, I read reviews about the foundation from people who have used it. They all swore by it. I'm not sure there is a HUGE difference between a well applied high-end foundation and the HD well applied, but it's great. It's not sticky, it doesn't clog your pores, and it leaves a matte, well moisturized finish. I've found it's also long lasting--it made it through a cycling class--that's saying something.

I would recommend. Though it's pricey. At Sephora it is about $40. You can get other high-ends for less. After all, how often are any of us under the scrutiny of HD cameras. Not me, but I bought it and love it anyway.

If you'd try another brand, I'd recommend Smashbox HD healthy FX--which also includes an SPF 15 and vitamin C--if you're worried about the health of your skin--which we all should be. :)

Double wear is really thick I have heard so it covers up really good but it feels kind of heavy on your face. My auntie uses it. I uses L'O'real paris foundation. It covers up any acne or blemishes real good and its easy to do touch ups. Hope I could help!

The thicker foundation was discontinued. I wore Beach.Does anyone know make-up similar to Origins full coverage foundation?
Hi. I really like Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup SPF 10. I'm not familiar with Origins foundations, but I just started using foundation recently and this one has good coverage, but doesn't feel heavy or look thick.I put the link below. Sephora will give you a sample to try before you buy. I hope this helped. :)

This is what I usually do - not sure if a make-up artist would say it was correct but it is a shot lol!!!

I wash my face (I use the Clinique 3 step thing)

    toner

    moisturize

    wait a few minutes

    concealer and primer etc

    base/foundation

    powder

    cheeks

    eyelids

    brows and finally

    lips
Professionally I do in this order: Primer, liquid foundation, conceal any flaws, shadow, eyeliner, mascara, blush, lips. I finish with a mineral foundation for coverage and glow. I like to highlight cheeks with Highbeam by Benefit. Best of luck.

When applying make up should i use foundation of concealer first?

    foundation first, then concealer.

if you do concealer first, you'll undo all your work blending the concealer when you apply the foundation. :)When applying make up should i use foundation of concealer first?
You can use concealer both under or over your foundation. Use both under and over for maximum coverage. Under gives you light coverage, over gives a medium coverage, using both over and under gives you the max. Hope this helps. When applying make up should i use foundation of concealer first?
there are so many different types of everything idk which yu should use first

*concealer is more to hide blemishes and aged spots

*and then foundation evens out your tones and gives yu a smoother look to your face

*so i htink i would go w/ concealer and then foundation...but thats just me
concealer first because yoy only use it on spots

then you use the foundation to blend it out for full coverage
foundation it makes it easier to put on concealer

  • I use mac make up so should my mac concealer match my foundation number?

or should it be lighter?I use mac make up so should my mac concealer match my foundation number?
Concealor should be one shade lighter.I use mac make up so should my mac concealer match my foundation number?
Most sources recommend that it be a shade or 2 lighter, but it depends on your skin and the kind of coverage you're looking for. Your best bet would be to go the MAC store or counter and have one of the consultants help you pick out a concealer.

I use MAC as well, and my concealer and foundation are the same number.
Go to the YSL counter at Saks

It is the best brand of make-up to use

It's kind of expensive but it rocks

It makes u look prettier but isn't overbearing like mac
Your concealer need to be a shade or two lighter than your make up or it will not do you any good to use it. The concealer will cover a multitude of sin. Like dark circles and you can use it on your upper eye lids to make your eyes look larger and more open.

You can also use it on anything you need to cover up before applying your make up. It is best to apply your make up and concealer with a facial sponge. It will go on more evenly than using your fingers. Concealer is also good to use at the outer crease of your eyes, where your laugh lines are.

But, make sure it is a shade or two lighter than the makeup1

Washing off make-up (mascara, foundation, concealer]?

I don't just use these 3, but I was wondering what's the best way to remove make-up. Any certain products at a low price that I can find at a store. And also is it true removing make-up prevents breakouts? I've never really gotten a bad breakout though. I'm just new to make-up and I've been experimenting a lot lately, and I want to learn a lot before the summer's over.. :)Washing off make-up (mascara, foundation, concealer]?
Baby oil works really well. I used to buy makeup removers all of the time, but they were pretty expensive. I read somewhere that baby oil takes of eye makeup well. I tired it and it worked great. I use it to take off foundation and other makeup too. It's cheap and all you do it pour a little bit on a Kleenex and wipe it off. It's gentle and it doesn't sting the eye area.Washing off make-up (mascara, foundation, concealer]?
One easy solution I often use to solve this problem is witch hazel. It gets deep down in your pores and does strip all of the makeup off and makes your skin extremely smooth and is great for puffy eyes. You can get it easily at Sally's or something like whole foods.

Another great option is baby wipes, if its good enough for a baby's bottom its good enough for your face. It will take everything off basically just as effective as makeup wipes (but if you do want to go the makeup wipe route try MAC's wipes they work amazing).

    Hope this helps.
for your eye makeup, i would get a good eye makeup remover. i like Merle Normans, it works well for my sensitive eyes.

for face makeup, i use a sugar scrub. in a small container mix together:

    1/2 cup of sugar

    2 tablespoons of lemon juice

1 tablespoon olive oil (any kind)

gently scrub this on you face, then rinse off. my skin will tolerate it daily, but if it's too much, you can use straight olive oil as a makeup remover (i'd wash any extra oil off with a gentle face bar).

    have fun!
For your eye makeup use some sort of lotion (i use nivea lotion) and put some on a kleenex or a piece of toilet paper and rub it on your eyes till all the makeup is gone but be gentle cause you dont want wrinkles! lol and for the rest of your face (like if you wear foundation) use a face wash like the one below:

Ponds makeup wipes or any brand of makeup wipes they all work the same and remove everything!

This one is only for the ladies . Im woundering if its ok for guys to use some kind of make up/ foundation?.?

but only for the purpose of hidding things like small acne pimple. im totaly straight by the way. i just think that in order to feel a bit better a bout my skin and self . in order to look more attractive to girls. not saying that im not attractive . but im saying i want some thing to hide my acne and the best thing i can think of is makeup cause none of my acne medications really work .and if there is any type of product you think is good let me know so thanks for the advice ladies. This one is only for the ladies . Im woundering if its ok for guys to use some kind of make up/ foundation?.?
My boyfriend has acne it's not bad or anything but he hates it so i work as a beauty adviser and i helped him pick out a shade! I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you don't cake it on your face :) if girls can hide imperfections so can guys.. what i taught him to do is just use it on the bad spots and rub it in really well make sure you get the right color otherwise you'll be able to see it.. i would use a liquid it's far less noticeable then a powder hope this helps :)This one is only for the ladies . Im woundering if its ok for guys to use some kind of make up/ foundation?.?
I think it's okay. I've gone with my brother to buy concealer to cover some of his acne. He's straight and a total guys guy, he just wanted to look good like you do. Have a girl friend go with you to help you pick the right color or go to a make up counter at Macy's, Nordstrom etc. and they can pick out a color for you. Good luck!
Its ok if you just put a tiny bit on, but its not ok if you slather it on all over your face and then it looks really obvious that your wearing it. But i think thats the only makeup that ok on guys. Just please dont start wearing mascara or eyeshadow or something. That would just be scary.
I don't know. You probably don't need it. If my boyfriend has pimples, it's not a turn off. I don't care. In fact, I don't even notice!
you can use foundation etc but not to look pretty =S but to cover acne hell yes

    Foundation Differences? Make Up?

Whats teh difference between the kind that is powder and the kind that is liquid?Foundation Differences? Make Up?
i usually prefer powder..coz liquid makes me all sticky and messy.. there's not much difference..both do the same thingFoundation Differences? Make Up?
powder if u want natural look while liquid gives u more coverage
Powder kinda makes your skin whiter but I'm aiming for a tanned skin. The one that's liquid feels like cream, which I like, but it'd be better if the lilquid includes SPF or a clearer skin formula.
Liquid gives more coverage. Powder tends to make your skin feel dry and look flakey (if you have dry skin). I personally perfer the liquid foundation because I have dry skin. But powder is better to control shine and oily looking skin.

    Best of luck!

Make-up advise please, what foundation/powder is best?

Im starting college in 2days and i need to find a good foundation %26amp; powder. Ive been told of a couple different brands to use but i'm still not sure. I have skin prone to spots, and my skin can quite easily become shiny/oiley when wearing make-up..And idea's please? Make-up advise please, what foundation/powder is best?
This article will help you find a good foundation for your skin type: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article鈥?/a>Make-up advise please, what foundation/powder is best?
Hi if i was you i would try boots No 7. I have very sensitive skin and find that this is the only make up i can wear. They do different ranges so ask the lady on the counter to help for to get the best for your skin. It is quite reasonably priced. Good luck in finding a good foundation.
Start with mark.'s Matte Chance, a new moisturizer that smoothes and mattifies and is perfect for oily skin. ($15)

Then I would suggest using their Powder Buff powder foundation ($8) for an even, finished look.
If i were you i would forget using a foundation and powder and switch to l'oreal minerals- this stuff is amazing and has to be tried to be believed- it won't dissapoint you i guarantee
I use Rimmel clear complexion power i find it really good, and i don't use foundation that often because it worsens my skin, i just moisturise on a night before i go to bed.
ooo cool!! im starting college in 2wks!! cnt wait.. ok so try mac studio fix powder/foundation.. its a powder with the perfect coverage of foundation.. since ur skin's oily, normal foundation wud give u a 'melting' effect.. but make sure use moisturiser before u use the mac..
Bare Minerals, you can order from Sephora.com..

$25 for powder/foundation that has solid silky coverage that will last you 6 months.

Bare minerals. It stays on all day with one application and its a powder foundation so both of what you want in one! I have oily skin and mild acne and it covers perfectly with no line
revlon colorstay foundation really stays!!!! along with their overtime sheer lipcolor!!!!
Have you tried Bare Escentuals? It is the best and easiest to achieve a flawless effect with!

MAKE UP: What is a really good foundation?

I've never used foundation before and would love to try it. All the other make-up I wear is Rimmel London's ones. Does anyone know a good foundation? I would like one so that people find it hard to tell if your wearing foundation or not.MAKE UP: What is a really good foundation?
If you're looking for a liquid foundation, try smashbox, it's really great and doesnt clog pores as much as others.

If you're looking for a powder one try MAC, it also provides great coverage while feeling a lot lighter and it lasts forever!

If you don't really need maximum coverage because you already have a fairly even skintone, try bare minerals powder foundation

make sure to get your skintone matched in the stores or at the counter, it makes all the difference! (more vital for mac and smashbox because bare minerals doesnt show up so much as a colour as it does just kindof camouflage and create a shear glow.)MAKE UP: What is a really good foundation?
Ok finding the perfect foundation is not all about finding the most natural coverage but it depends on your skin type also. But no matter what your skin type may be invest in a oil free foundation. Oil clogs poores and makes your makeup wear off quicker. I use Maybelline pure makeup, it is water instead of oil. Go to major makeup product websites (like cover girl, maybelline, rimmel etc) and go to there color advisor section, you can pick out what you are aiming for in a foundation and it will select the foundation to use :)
I've been using just the basic Covergirl foundation ever since I was a teenager. It's a plain bottle and says Clean Makeup on the front. It doesn't make my skin oily or anything and smells good and it's super affordable. I'm very pale so I use the Classic Ivory and no one can even tell I'm wearing makeup. I've never tried any other brand because I've been so satisfied with this one.
some of the best ones out there are by make up for ever and mac, but ofcourse the price is also different than rimmel's. i myself use mac's studio fix fluid, and i really like it, it manages to cover up my discoloration and evens out my skin reallly well.

you are definately right in askin for a foundation that looks like ur not wearing any, because thats how it ought to look :)
I use clinique and i love it because their foundations is powder like, so it`s not too creamy. Well, they have different types, just ask for the poweder like one. I don`t put on a lot, just small drops and it looks so natural, just to level the color of my face. It looks really natural looking. Because I wear it almost every day, I feel I use make up, but many people tell me they wish they were like me, a make up free person, I`m like...? but I do use...! So there...more natural than that you won`t find.
I'd recommend any MAC ones. If you have a MAC store in your mall or a counter in department stores like Macy's, Bloomingdales and etc., you should definitely check out their foundations. I use their Studio Fix Fluid. It gives full coverage without looking cakey or mask-like. Plus the people who work there can color match you so you won't have to guess what color you are.
I use ALMAY, i have really sensitive skin and i use the OILY/normal combo, if u have sensitive or oily skin DO NOT USE MAC, i love MAC eyeshadow or lipglass i have a million mac products but dont use there foundation or powder!
ID BARE ESSENTUALS is definitely the best way to go. you get a flawless natural look. its so pure you can even sleep in it. It actually helps my skin unlike other foundations.. I HIGHLY reccomend it

    (= %26lt;3
I use the Maybelline Pure Liquid Mineral foundation... I love it because it feels so natural and it doesnt look like I obviously am wearing foundation!
    BARE ESCENTUALS BARE MINERALS.
    I use Trucco

but rimmel londens whipped foundation works REALL good
Bare Minerals. No question about it. I love that stuff.
    body shop,

go and they do it for free to see whats your color.

    its great.

  • Where can I find a full make-up set which includes eye, blush, and foundation?

Which department stores carry such a thing?Where can I find a full make-up set which includes eye, blush, and foundation?
Go to Sam's...right now Victoria secret is in there with their makeup...you get foundation, blush, lipsticks eye liner, shadows etc...everything you need! it is awesome. I got one for each of my daughters in law and one for me...we all LOVE THEM!Where can I find a full make-up set which includes eye, blush, and foundation?
For something good, and good for the price as well, go to ULTA-- it's a makeup store, and they have sales on makeup kits all the time, especially on holidays. Their stuff is high quality, and gives you lip stick, gloss, a lip liner, an eye liner, many different shades of eye shadow, blush, and so on. The only thing that it doesn't have is foundation. But It's a makeup store, so you could always just pick up something up.

Hope this helps and good luck!
Are we talking good quality make up that suits you?

I think it depends which country you are in right now. If you can add some more information I might be able to assist you ^ ^

Update: Thanks for the additional info... Foundation should match your skin. In cheaper packs I don't rate that liquid mess that they usually put in those things and the ingredients of some packs are questionable.

I personally LOOOOOVE Bare Escentuals (Bare Minerals)... Fantastic coverage, minerals which you can sleep in and easy to apply...

I think everyone has summed up places to go in the USA. It depends on how much you are willing to spend also.

    Good Luck :)
I know for sure a Shoppers Drug Mart carries that,

    or a Walmart,

Full make up sets at these stores won't be very good quality but will work :)
Everywhere! Target, Wal Mart, Kohl's, etc. Wal Mart, definitely.
i dont think you can, and if you do it isent good quality.
    Debenhams
Walmart! i see them there all the time!
lots of place like in boot

UK answers please - which make up brands do a really pale foundation?

I'm a redhead and my skin is really pale, almost white (think Nicola from Girls Aloud) and even the palest foundations I can find tend to look a bit yellowy on me. I don't want to pay out to get one custom made, I'd really prefer to pay under a tenner, any suggestions?UK answers please - which make up brands do a really pale foundation?
I feel you pain, I have the same problem:

    What I am using now:

MAC body and face in White (yes I mean white) %26amp; one or two drops of N1 (you need a MAC Pro store to get your hands on the white foundation)

    Alternatives are:

There is a makeup by NARS, the shade is called Siberia,

I would definitely try this one if you cannot a PRO store closeby.

    Or:

Armani uses figures for their shades, so for that brand, try No 2.

    Or

    Prescriptives does custom made blends.

I have not tried it myself but they just mix the colour that you want.

As previously said, the more expensive brands do lighter shades. So what I do is I go to Selfridges or Marks %26amp; Spencer and go to a couple of makeup counters and ask them to show me their lightest colour.

But remember: don't just go by shade, I had this issue for a couple of times:

The shade was pretty good but the makeup itself did not work for me. SO always have it applied before you buy!

    Hope this helps

UK answers please - which make up brands do a really pale foundation?
Nicola Roberts has a make up range called Dainty Doll which has a wite foundation you can add to your normal one to make it paler. You could also try Revlon Colourstay.

I have this problem as well and find that more expensive brands such as Bobbi Brown %26amp; MAC have a much wider variety of pale shades.
mac are amazing i am sooo pale and i got a perfect colour, they sit down with you and try different ones, but there bout 拢20.
I know Nicola from Girls Aloud made her own brand especially for girls with pale skin,, It is called Dainty Doll :)

I have the same problem, plus a lot of goundations out there make me break out. What I'm using now and think I'm going to stick with is Almay. The yellow bottles are the ones for our type of skin. It doesn't stay on all day, but if you put powder over top, then it locks it on almost. That goes with almost any foundation. I also use the toner and that helps with the oil as well.Which foundation or make up should i use as i have very oily skin,, and sweat a lot on the face..pls help?????
be free and feel free like me!.

I stopped wearing foundation, partly 'cause of oily skin and partly cause i thought it actually made me look older!!

i can usally tell when people wear foundation, and now I actually like the natural look best.!!!
I have the same problem as you - oily skin, sweaty face, etc. I am 28 and have tried everything to come down the line since I was in middle school. The stand alone product that has worked for me is the i.d. bareMinerals foundation. It covers nicely (almost like a liquid, but without the weight) and really helps facial perspiration. Almay, Covergirl, etc. foundation - even if advertised for oily skin - just melts away. If you want to wear those brands, my other suggestion would be to invest in Dr.Feelgood by Benefits. It is a face balm and it really works to not only reduce the sweating but also to cover acne scarring or pits before you put your foundation on. Its pricey but a little goes a long way and it makes a HUGE difference. The last thing I would suggest is to use a toner after you wash your face to get rid of the red. I use witch hazel or Almay Toner 2 with Meadowsweet. Good luck!
You do need to use a long lasting foundation like revlon colorstay. You may need to consider using a primer under your foundation. You can't really find these in drugstores so will have to pay a little more. I use Clinique city block as a primer, it is really a sunscreen but has good oil control properties. There are some other good primers by Laura Mercier and smashbox. Go to a beauty site like sephora and enter ';primer'; and see what you get. The best thing to do really is go to the department store and get a consultation from a makeup artist.

I use clinique. It's oil free, fragrance free. Remember, no matter what brand you choose, it's not going to completely banish the oil. You need to blot several times a day then put just a small amount opf powder on so your face stays fresh. I have skin like yours and I tried all sorts of products but I always go back to Clinique. It may take some time to find out what really works and what doesn't work at all....good luck!!!Which foundation or make up should i use as i have very oily skin,, and sweat a lot on the face..pls help?????
I have the same problem and mary kay has great products for that. Just find the nearest mary kay dealer and Im sure she can help you. It may be a little pricey but it works.
I have very oily skin and I broke down and bought i.d. Bare Minerals.

I love it!!! I will never use any other kind.

It goes on so smooth and covers great, they have a sort of top coat called Mineral veil, and it helps control oil. And unlike face powder it never gets cakey or thick no matter how many times a day you reapply.

I also found some rice paper, they are little sheets that you press on your face and they soak up oil. Love 'em!!
You have completely described my skin! I use Mary Kay, as someone has mentioned -- it is pricey, but it works well.

    Good luck.
wear oil free, I use covergirl oil free .. works for me. or you can wear the real expensive stuff, go to your best dept store makup counter tell them and have them give you a consultation. Or order Bare Minerals is great 65.50 for the first package.
I also have the same problem with oily skin. I use physicians formula which you can get at any drugstores pretty much. Its very light, and gives a nice natural look and it also goes with all skintones pretty much. Its so light you can nearly sleep in it!

Sephora Brand Make-up Users! What is the difference between the matifying compact POWDER and the FOUNDATION?

The Sephora brand matifying compact powder is $14 and the matifying compact foundation is $20. I know the foundation can be used wet/ dry, but are there any other advantages? Does it provide much better coverage than the powder? And is the powder really just like a loose powder, or does it actually provide coverage?Sephora Brand Make-up Users! What is the difference between the matifying compact POWDER and the FOUNDATION?
Powder is usually more sheer and used for covering up oil on your face/nose, and is sometimes used on top of foundation, and foundation usually evens out your skin tone more and provides more coverage.

I'm not so sure about the exact Sephora brand, but i'd suspect it's the same case. hope this helps :]

    Mac Foundation and Make up?

Is Mac foundation good for oily and acne prone skin?

Is it recommended for everyday wear?

I thinking of buying MAC make up (Foundation, conceler, eyeshadow, lipglass, brushes, all of it) and I dont know if its recommended for everyday use.

Im gonna use it at school and to other plces and stuff. :]

So, are MAC products good?Mac Foundation and Make up?
Mac Brushes, and gloss: Go for it.

Eyeshadow stays on long, and they have a wide variety of color choices

If I were you I would steer clear of their face makeup meaning foundation and concealers though. They tend to make people break out more. But you could always give it a tryMac Foundation and Make up?
MAC is heavy makeup and makes you break out as it clogs pores then it costs you a ton to try and fix your complexion stay clear if it. Try bee luscious cosmetics liquid powder mineral foundation, concealers and primer. Its great for everyday wear its hypo allergenic and will not clog pores at all. I love it, it has done miracles for my complexion.
