I have the same problem, plus a lot of goundations out there make me break out. What I'm using now and think I'm going to stick with is Almay. The yellow bottles are the ones for our type of skin. It doesn't stay on all day, but if you put powder over top, then it locks it on almost. That goes with almost any foundation. I also use the toner and that helps with the oil as well.Which foundation or make up should i use as i have very oily skin,, and sweat a lot on the face..pls help?????
be free and feel free like me!.

I stopped wearing foundation, partly 'cause of oily skin and partly cause i thought it actually made me look older!!

i can usally tell when people wear foundation, and now I actually like the natural look best.!!!
I have the same problem as you - oily skin, sweaty face, etc. I am 28 and have tried everything to come down the line since I was in middle school. The stand alone product that has worked for me is the i.d. bareMinerals foundation. It covers nicely (almost like a liquid, but without the weight) and really helps facial perspiration. Almay, Covergirl, etc. foundation - even if advertised for oily skin - just melts away. If you want to wear those brands, my other suggestion would be to invest in Dr.Feelgood by Benefits. It is a face balm and it really works to not only reduce the sweating but also to cover acne scarring or pits before you put your foundation on. Its pricey but a little goes a long way and it makes a HUGE difference. The last thing I would suggest is to use a toner after you wash your face to get rid of the red. I use witch hazel or Almay Toner 2 with Meadowsweet. Good luck!
You do need to use a long lasting foundation like revlon colorstay. You may need to consider using a primer under your foundation. You can't really find these in drugstores so will have to pay a little more. I use Clinique city block as a primer, it is really a sunscreen but has good oil control properties. There are some other good primers by Laura Mercier and smashbox. Go to a beauty site like sephora and enter ';primer'; and see what you get. The best thing to do really is go to the department store and get a consultation from a makeup artist.

Mac Foundation and Make up?

Is Mac foundation good for oily and acne prone skin?

Is it recommended for everyday wear?

I thinking of buying MAC make up (Foundation, conceler, eyeshadow, lipglass, brushes, all of it) and I dont know if its recommended for everyday use.

Im gonna use it at school and to other plces and stuff. :]

So, are MAC products good?Mac Foundation and Make up?
Mac Brushes, and gloss: Go for it.

Eyeshadow stays on long, and they have a wide variety of color choices

If I were you I would steer clear of their face makeup meaning foundation and concealers though. They tend to make people break out more. But you could always give it a tryMac Foundation and Make up?
MAC is heavy makeup and makes you break out as it clogs pores then it costs you a ton to try and fix your complexion stay clear if it. Try bee luscious cosmetics liquid powder mineral foundation, concealers and primer. Its great for everyday wear its hypo allergenic and will not clog pores at all. I love it, it has done miracles for my complexion.
Yes they have nice product I use their eyeshadow and lip gloss umm as far as foundation I use Mary Kay But I do have some Mac powder that I ocassionally use if I look extremely oily on the spot
Try bee luscious its oil free and will not clog pores. Its hypo allergenic I love it.I use it all the time

What are Make-up foundations made of?

im doing this project......its a long story so anyway can anyone tell me what basic ingredients you need to make makeup foundations?? im not doing one at home really but i need to include it in the pro. plz help

thx 0.~What are Make-up foundations made of?
Where to begin when it comes to fact finding on cosmetic ingredients can be overwhelming - there are so many variations within chemical families, so I have put the start of a list together of some of the good, the bad and the nasty.

OCTYL METHOXYCINNAMATE and BUTYL METHOXYDIBENZOL METHANE absorb UVL. TITANIUM DIOXIDE and ZINC OXIDE are used in broad spectrum sunscreens for their UVA/ UVB absorbing qualities.

UREA is a moisturizing agent, which holds moisture rather than attracts it (BE AWARE of humectants, such as sorbelyne and glycerine, as these attract moisture. This means that if the humidity of your skin is higher than the atmosphere, i.e. air-conditioning, Australia from Feb. to Nov.; these ingredients will draw moisture out of your skin).

ALLANTOIN is a derivative of urea, extracted from herbs (originally used by the American Indians) - healing properties.

CAMOMILE AND ZINC OXIDE are also used for their skin healing properties.

PROPYLENE GLYCOL = antifreeze (good for cars, but not for skin).

TRIETHANOLENE = carcinogenic (very nasty)..

MINERAL OIL, LIQUID PARAFFIN, LIGHT LIQUID PARAFFIN = these are all the same product and are based on mineral oil, which is left over from the substance we keep our cars going with. Common usages include machine shop oil and sewing machine oil - very cheap and innocuous, derived from petroleum, contains impurities.

PETROLATUM, PETROLEUM JELLY, PARAFFIN = all are petroleum jelly, and are based on petroleum - petrol. Extremely drying on the skin. What are Make-up foundations made of?
fish scales. I know it sounds gross, but really thats the base of it.

Sephora Brand Make-up Users! What is the difference between the matifying compact POWDER and the FOUNDATION?

The Sephora brand matifying compact powder is $14 and the matifying compact foundation is $20. I know the foundation can be used wet/ dry, but are there any other advantages? Does it provide much better coverage than the powder? And is the powder really just like a loose powder, or does it actually provide coverage?Sephora Brand Make-up Users! What is the difference between the matifying compact POWDER and the FOUNDATION?
Powder is usually more sheer and used for covering up oil on your face/nose, and is sometimes used on top of foundation, and foundation usually evens out your skin tone more and provides more coverage.

I'm not so sure about the exact Sephora brand, but i'd suspect it's the same case. hope this helps :]

Why are you changing if you like it. Anyway here is another one by Max Factor that has had good reviews. I dont know whether it is liquid, I am assuming so.

What is the best make up/concealer/foundation brand to cover acne scar?

im 26..caramel skin tone..help me..tqWhat is the best make up/concealer/foundation brand to cover acne scar?
bare escentuals. it's an all in one product. depending on how much you can use you can achieve a natural to super covered look. it can be used as a light powder, foundation, or concealer. also their product mineral veil is a great oil absorber for blotting. What is the best make up/concealer/foundation brand to cover acne scar?
Use a 30 caramel skin tone concealer, but when you put it on put it on the surrounding area first and they slowly pat it on the blemish but DON'T RUB it irritates the skin so be careful so PAT it on until it is smooth.
MAC.
I had the same issue and purchased Dermablend at Dillards. Let me tell you, it covered up every flaw on my skin. The girl at the store gave me a demo, and I was thinking she is just trying to con me into buying crap, but when she turned me around in the mirror, I was shocked and amazed. I have two scars on my nose from acne, and I have tried everything from Covergirl to Mac and this Dermablend stuff covered it up.

You can get a compact or a small container, and you only need just a tiny bit to cover it up. Even better you can get this setting poweder and it sets in the foundation, so it does not rub off. I am bad about touching my face, and this stuff does not come off. I also have darker skin, and found a perfect match. Hope that helps.

  • 4 the GIRLS: Can anyone sugguest a great make up foundation?

I'm looking for a foundation that one, gives great coverage and covers blemeshis well but without that cakey look, I prefere liquid foundation, but any will do.

Department store brand wise not over the counter drug-store please!

I have a special event coming up so I need the suggestions.

Thanks ;D4 the GIRLS: Can anyone sugguest a great make up foundation?
I have Maybelline Mineral Power %26amp; I absolutely LOVE it! It's water proof and there's no streaks if you get the right shade. It's great for everday use and makes your skin flawless. It doesn't make your skin break out like others do. It's usually $8 and worth every penny!4 the GIRLS: Can anyone sugguest a great make up foundation?
MAC studio fix is great. It is easy to blend and last a long time. I use the SPF 50 primer and it doesn't make my skin greasy. I work for 10 hours a night, and at the end of night my face looks just as I first put it on! It doesn't go on ';too much'; if you use a light hand. People might just be used to using more product because with other brands you use a bigger amount. I have the Duo Fibre brush and it blends it even on your face.
Ben Nye products are really good, excellent coverage but still blends seamlessly.

They have great products for events/everyday use as well as for theater use.

Just be sure to get the right shade for your skin tone, and blend well!

Also be sure to cleanse and moisturize well before and after use.
Revlon Custom Creations works great. It's really easy to find your shade since there are 5 shades in each bottle. You just turn a dial at the top and test it out to get the shade that you want. I can sweat and sweat in this makeup and it DOES NOT come off. Just wear a light layer of powder foundation (anything from Cover Girl should work) over it so that it can settle and not look cakey.
I use Revlon New Complexion One Step Foundation and love it. It's a mixture of a liquid and a powder. It doesn't feel heavy and is oil free. It's found at the drug-store but I think it's great.

I'm looking for a really good make-up foundation?

I don't mind if it's expensive but it would be easier to get something I could afford, like at a drugstore. I'm looking for something that goes on smooth and looks natural. I hate the look of most of the girls at school- they don't have good stuff. I don't wanna look bad, I wanna be the best I can be. Please help me!I'm looking for a really good make-up foundation?
I use Smashbox Halo Powder Foundation and it looks really good and also natural. It is light but still makes my skin look great, almost like you said an airbrush effect. However, it is expensive. I payed $72 in Canada. It is a little bit less expensive in the US. But you get quite a bit of product and it has this cool built in shaver so you only use what you need and shave off fresh each time.I'm looking for a really good make-up foundation?
I use Bare Minerals foundation. It is expensive, but I don't wear makeup often. The main reasons I use it is because it looks very natural, it feels light, and it doesn't irritate my skin. Any other foundation usually makes my skin itch like crazy. My sister, who wears makeup everyday, I think uses the Maybelline powder foundation because it's cheaper. I think powder foundations are much easier to spread and look much more natural.
It depends which country you live in i dont know if other countries have the same brand as the uk but...

it depends the feel your after ..

if you want something you can feel is actually on your skin ( may feel alittle thick but look nautral ) you should go for maybe mayberline moose affect make up its about 拢7.90 in uk pounds...

if you want something very light ( aka on the skin so you can barely feel it but gives good coverage) then maybe try something like max factor press on powder.. its about 拢12.00 once again in british pounds...

but they are both very good make up and are quite cheap also another good named make up its Vie ( it used to be virgin make up) but thst very good and its in the middle you can feel like its on but its still quite light which is good xxx
Get some samples of the HOllywood and NoHoGlo foundation from LA Minerals. I use them both and my skin looks PERFECT! covers good, feels like you have nothing on, lasts all day. What more could I ask for?

Do you know what causes make-up foundation to look cakey?

I thought it was because I wasn't using moisturiser first so I tried that, but my foundation still cakes on my skin. I tried primer too and that didn't help. I tried no moisturiser and that also didn't help. I tried using just the slightest layer of foundation and that also caked on my skin. I tried all sorts of different brands and textures of foundations and that also caked on my skin. So why is this happening?

Girls: Have you ever bought make up/foundation at the store, but when you tried it later, it didn't match?

I have so many partly used bottles of foundations %26amp; pressed powders. When I look at them in the store (the ones that there are no samples to try), they look like they will match %26amp; then when I try it out, sometimes it's too light, too dark, or too orangy.

My complexion is kind of an olive tan color:

    http://s118.photobucket.com/albums/o81/r鈥?/a>

I'm trying to find something inexpensive, preferably under $20.00. What brand do you use or recommend?Girls: Have you ever bought make up/foundation at the store, but when you tried it later, it didn't match?
Ugh, I've had that happen to me several times (I'm pale with neutral undertones, so finding a good foundation is almost impossible for me!), and it bums me out!

Try L'Oreal TrueMatch foundation. It's pretty cheap, and it comes in tons and tons of different colors.

Or, honestly, go to MAC and have your foundation color checked. A bottle of liquid foundation is a little bit more than $20, but it lasts a really long time, and it'll definitely be the right color. It's wise to spend a bit more money on a foundation if it means you'll get the right shade.Girls: Have you ever bought make up/foundation at the store, but when you tried it later, it didn't match?
Yes, that's happened to me before, when I've only tried it on the back of my hand. It's best to test the foundation on your jawline and if you can go out of the store in to natural light. I've got a couple of foundation bottles that are too dark. Try Maybelline Matte Mousse, it's good and not too expensive, or Benefit do some nice products, their foundation is usually around $20-30. You could give the foundation you can't use to a friend or swap it on MakeupAlley : )
Yes i understand your problem, I think you are picking maybe the wrong skin tone foundations and pressed powders. A great makeup/beauty store is Ulta. Ask someone there. Or when you get your next hair ask the makeup person there. Try useing organic makeup, Its great for the face and it doesn't clog poors, and no oil! But ask a professional about makeup maybe they can help!

I put a link to nutra lift.com it has some organic foundations for you

    Hope this helps! =-)
Try testing it out on the top of your hand or on your wrist and see if you get a better match that way, I use sheercover and it is a mineral powder foundation and I actually mix two colors to get the perfect match try that and see how it works
    All the time.

That is why i never take the people doing my make-up words because the light inside the shop isn't the same outside. What i do is take a pump of it and go outside and check in daylight.
    I'd recommend almay for you
    Hi,

Unfortunately, this happens to alot of people. Usually, it is hard to match up foundations properly in a store that does not have natural lighting.

The best way to test shades is to use natural light from a window or outside to verify that you can not see a line on your face once you have applied the foundation color.

I have worked as a makeup artist with Bobbi Brown and now with Mary Kay. Make sure that you purchase from a cosmetic company that will allow you to return or exchange if you don't get the right shade the first time. Both of these brands have an excellent return/exchange policy.

Ask you makeup artist to do a foundation ';stripe test';. This is where she will select 3 - 5 shades of foundation and she will place a small stripe of each shade along the side of your jaw. She will then blend them into your skin. The shade that blends directly into your skin that does not show a line is the most natural shade for you.

Next, ask if you can step outside or stand by a window with natural light to verify that it does actually blend naturally into your skin. If it does, then you have found the right shade! YAY!!!!

If not, then ask to to try other shades, either lighter or darker, depending on your skin.

Both Bobbi Brown and Mary Kay offer samples for you to try out first before you buy the full bottle of foundation.

    Hope this helps.

Is foundation, a bit of blush and mascara too much make-up to wear to school?

    TK CR.
That's pretty much what i wear.,

but sometimes a powder is easier, because if you get a foundation a slight different color than your skin you look yellow-orangish in the fluorescents.

other than that, sounds good =]
No, I wouldn't. As long as nothing is caked on and it looks fine, then it's okay. I'm in 8th grade and I wear mascara, eyeliner, a bit of foundation, and blush.
No way! I'm in middle school, and I wear foundation, eyeliner, mascara, and blush!
No way! alot would be if you're wearing like 4 colours of eyeshadow and mounds of eyeliner with what you already have! now that's alot!

But what you're wearing right now is perfect!

Ok, I had a similar situation to this. I loved my MAC foundation, and I had ran out of it, but I was on vacation and was only near a target. So I picked up the revlon colorstay foundation for normal/dry skin (which is what I am). I just picked out the one that looked closest to my MAC foundation and I absolutely loved it! In fact, I actually now like it better than my MAC foundation. So I would defiantly recommend it for you.

How can you have time to go to Target and not Macy's? I'm lost.

Ok ladies, question about make up foundation.....?

I have been using Clinique cream foundation that comes in a green compact, for over two years now, i love how it does not make my skin break out. (my skin type is combo and its sensative also) but, The only thing i dont like is that it does not last more than like 4 hours! i swear it comes off then my then end of the day i look like i put nothing on. So can anyone recommend something that really lasts at least half the day? I dont do well with powders. I dont really know my skin tone BC i have always had it matched at a proff. counter at the Dept. store. So if you do suggest somethig you by at s grocery store, then my next question is how do you know which color you are?? im open to any suggestions just want to stay in the price range that i pay for the Clinique, its around 18.00?

thanks!Ok ladies, question about make up foundation.....?
You can actually put on a make-up ';primer'; on your face before you put on your make-up and it will make it stay on all day! You can even buy a face spray that goes on after you put on your make-up, and it will do the same thing; your make-up won't budge! You can get them from a Sephora make-up store and one of the good brands is called Smashbox. Or you can get a primer or spray on from any specialty make-up place, (Clinique might even have a primer). The primer will even reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, help your make-up to go on smoother, act as a smooth cream base, and it can be SPF too. Try looking for a primer first since the spray-ons are not as available unless you order them.Ok ladies, question about make up foundation.....?
well you can continue to use clinique, just you like a base first. like i use a covergirl moisterizer so that the foundation can adhere better. or you can go to Mac, because they have really good base that will make your foundation stay longer. i use a moisterizer and then a Mac studio fix powder. it works for me! good luck :/
what you should do is find a light ormineral powder and put it over the clinique. that is what will make it last and look more ';finshed';. but do'nt apply too much of the powder! and if that doesn't work or you don't like the idea then you should apply a moisturizer b4 you put on the foundation.

    good luck!!!
chanel stays on for at least a whole 24 hours as if you just applied it. i use this one:

Question For Girls About Make-Up Foundation?? (I'm a guy, lol)?

Okay so over the weekend I was in Malibu and I saw this really hot girl sitting with a bunch of her girlfriends and she was applying make up in an oh so beautiful way and then she finished off with this beautiful creme colored foundation and her face looked absolutely flawless ( not like a weird tramp like some girls) and gorgeous. Her face looked like something out of a magazine ad for make up......she caught me staring at her and she asked me if I would like to ask her something and I did but I felt too embarrassed........but I do want to ask girls, where do u learn to wear make up so well (well at least some girls do) and do you think its weird if a 20 year old guy noticed your a detail like that and commented on it??Question For Girls About Make-Up Foundation?? (I'm a guy, lol)?
We learn with practice! Most girls start using tiny bits of make up when we're 12 or 13, so, when we're older most of us are pretty good at it.

I just got complimented recently on my make up, actually. It made me soooo happy! I would have been even more flattered if it had been a guy who had complimented me!Question For Girls About Make-Up Foundation?? (I'm a guy, lol)?
Haha. Well I would love to get commented about my make up. It shows that the guy is looking at something OTHER than the girls breast/butt, which it's hard to find a guy like that. Haha.

Well when we first start off wearing make up, it's mainly experimenting until you find the right look, and as you go on, you just learn new tips and keep learning.
Most girls would probably just think your gay. But if you compliment your girlfriend or something, she would be happy you complimented her. We learn about makeup from experience.
I learn how to apply makeup from many excellant makeup gurus. I actually think it's kinda sweet, since most guys think makeup is fake, and what not.
no it is not weird at all lol :3

the way I learn how to do make up is I look up tutorials on youtube, talk to my friends ask them what makeup works or doesnt for what I want to do

another way is magazines they help alot

but the most important thing is just play around with it, practice makes perfect :)

Can anyone recommend MAC make-up? Especially foundation and concealer?

i absolutely love mac's studio mist foundation. its a lightweight liquid foundation delivered in a vaporised mist. spray onto hand or palette, then apply with a brush. allows enough distribution and blend time to ensure a flawless finish. i find it to be really long wearing and i can wear it all day without needing to re-apply it. the coverage is sheer-to-medium so if you need bit more coverage i would highly reccomend studio fix.

studio fix is a powder and foundation in one that combines good coverage with ease of application. designed to be used dry, the powder and pigments create a matte, velvety texture. it allows the skin to breathe and doesnt clog pores. it is available in a wide range of colours so you should be able to find one that suits your skin. i apply with a brush but it can also be applied with a sponge or a powder puff.

as for concealers i would reccomend their studio finish SPF 35 for the summer. again, its lightweight and creamy and provides a smooth, long-wearing invisible coverage for all skin blemishes. another bonus is that its water-resistant, fragrance-free and non-blemishgenic. you only need a tiny amount which mean it lasts for ages.

in regards to their other products, my beauty stable is mac's primer. its a fluid lotion that calms and soothes the skin, blots away excess oil, and evens out skin redness. it also improves the look and application of foundation or powder. if i only had to reccomend one product it would be this.

i also love their tinted lipglass and their brushes. their mascara is the best ever!! in fact i love everything by mac that i have tried. its a little expensive but worth every penny.

    hope this helps

As for concealer I use Select-cover up, for eyelashes Pro Lash, As for eyeshadow, the combinations are endless, But as for the brushes I would advise investing into some, it really makes a difference. Can anyone recommend MAC make-up? Especially foundation and concealer?
I recommend MAC highly. I use all MAC products, the foundation and concealer are great.

I use the ';Studio Finish'; concealer, and ';Studio Fix'; foundation.

I've never been disappointed with any MAC products, and they have a great recylcing program - bring in 6 empty plastic MAC containers and get a free lipstick!
I started using their Studio Finish concealer a couple of months ago - it's the best I've ever used for spots and marks, but not too good for under the eyes (it's a bit heavy/dry).

The shade (NW20) is perfect for me, but NW20 in MAC's other concealers doesn't seem to match as well, so the shades obviously vary a bit depending on which you buy.

I think it's fairly good value for money and my skin seems to have improved since using it. I'd definitely recommend it.

oh gosh, i hear mac was so good and this and that...but i tried it a foundation, and it was so crapy, so obvious on my skin omg..my friend's freind worked there n told me that the macis bad for you wen u get older?..idk if its true but sounds true lol. but the eye-shadows r good..but idk why the foundation was so bad..maybe its juss me? or i got the wrong one..but ya..im sticking to loreal or jane

    theyre much better for me
MAC cosmetics are great. I cant say I have tried the concealer, but the foundations really work and cater for the needs of your skin. Try the Studio Moisture Cream as well- works a treat before applying the foundation!
MAC is heavy and thick and does cause many break outs and clogged pores. I do not recommend it AT ALL it is a total waste of good money.
I can certainly vouch for MAC's mascara....LOVE IT!!!! I am looking forward to trying other MAC products.
MAC makeup works great, their products are quality

What is a good make-up foundation that...?

What is a pretty good liquid foundation that covers up blemishes, but is light and won't cause me to break out?

Preferably something I could just buy from Target. I'm buying it before I go on a trip, so I can't go to Clinique or anywhere else before I leave. otherwise, something that I could just buy temporarily? so you can throw out brands like MAC/Clinique, etc. and I can buy it when I get back home.

Anyway. I've been using L'oreal True Match foundation, and it's been causing me to break out. Any suggestions? What is a good make-up foundation that...?
I always liked the Maybelleine mousse stuff that comes in a little tub. I used to use it all the time but wanted a change. I use an Avon foundation now. It's okay. I may switch back to Maybelleine since my skin seems to be clearer lately.

If you can find an Avon rep, you can ask her for samples. If she wants your business, she'll get them for you! What is a good make-up foundation that...?
dream matte mousse is good, and they make a foundation too. its maybelline and its called dream liquid mousse. it gives you an airbrushed look and covers up real nice. just make sure your skin is clean and moisturized before you put it on. you can get it at walmart, cvs, or any place like that.
Does it have to be liquid?

My favourite foundation which isnt liquid (unfortunately)

is Elizabeth Arden, perfect tone for me and it smells really nice too

    but its 拢10 for one

so if you wanna spend that much for a good complexion be my guest, i do.

HELP,im useing clean make up foundation from cover girl?

ok longs story's short i think it is giving me more acne than i already have,so i need a foundation that is under 15$ and something that is not heavy, stinky or making me look i am wearing toooo much make up....and to also make me have a natural look, help me,thanks : )HELP,im useing clean make up foundation from cover girl?
Wash your face with a good face wash at night AND in the morning. Use a good moisturizer, (even if your face is oily) or a tinted moisturizer to start evening out your complexion. I recommend cover girl oil free foundation, because it doesn't put nasty oils into your pores and will help keep your skin clear. Put any kind of concealer on top, about a shade lighter than your foundation, and blend it reeeeally well! Wash your face every night to get rid of dirt.

If your skin is still breaking out after about 2 weeks (b/c you can't full tell what is going to happen after only a few days) then you might need to go to a dermatologist. But this helped my skin!HELP,im useing clean make up foundation from cover girl?

  • How do i choose the right make up (eyeshadow, lipstick, foundation/powder)?

I am fair skinned and have an almost white complexion, i have blue eyes and long, light brown curly hair could you please recommend the correct make-up i could use for my skin colouring? How do i choose the right make up (eyeshadow, lipstick, foundation/powder)?
Cover girl has a new chart out to help you decide what the best shades are for foundation, concealor and blush. They all coordinate with each other. It really help me, and the best I have ever found for my complexion in 20 years.

As far as eyes, I wouldnt use anything too dark . It has been said that pale browns/pinks look best on blue eyes, and that is what I use.How do i choose the right make up (eyeshadow, lipstick, foundation/powder)?
you would look good with a peach colored blush and maybe a little foundation with the eyes i would go with the almay color coordinated color sceam
Golds, browns bronze and tans/ peaches would be best for your eye color. Do you have a redder undertone or blueish undertone? Reddish is warm skin tone, Blueish is Cool skin tone, and then there is neutral. You need to figure out witch one you are so you can pick out the best color of foundations and powders suitable for your skin. Nudes and light pinks look good on fair skinned lips. Hope that helps.
firstly its all about the undertones of your skin, you will be either a cool tone or a warm tone you can generally tell this by the clothes that you wear which ones really suit you and make you look good! IE is it that blue jumper or your yellow jacket cool colours contain blues and pink and warm colours contains yellow IE black is cool brown is warm! Now make up:

Foundation: test 3 or 4 different ones on your face and the one that almost disappears into your skin is the correct colour.

Eyeshadow: you cant go wrong with a browns and beige's if you want stronger colours this is where your cool and warm tones come into play!

Cheeks: again depends on cool or warm so either Pink or Peach but to be honest you cant go wrong with a good bronzer (body shop is a good one)

    Lips: cool or warm again!

    Always wear Black mascara

Translucent Pressed powder (No7 pressed light is a good one)

I hope this helps, Ive worked on many faces in my job, and these guidelines usually work for me in my job! good Luck
I am fair skinned and have blue eyes, and I tend to go for smoky grey eyes and clear lipgloss. I always pick the lightest foundation colour that is made, and then slap a bit of bronzer on!
Actually Mary Kay has a website that shows you a bunch of different looks and you could check out the models who have your hair color and complexion. Its very helpful. Look under Color 101
I love to go to Mary Kay . Com and click on ';Virtual Make-Over'; if you pick out the matching skin color and eye color it will help you find the matching colors. And if you dont want to use Mary Kay make-up I like to print it off and go to the store and find matching colors with the cheaper brands!

Oh and it also helps you apply it on correctly! Hope this helps!
listent the best advice you could get is if you go to a cosmetics shop or a beauty salon and ask. the best is to go to a shop where they sell cosmetics line and ask them what suits your colour more. i would say that you need a light coloured foundation and a little darker powder on top. then the lipsticks and eyeshadows depends on what you are trying to give out to the people. like if you wanna play it simple go for lighter colurs with mascara but you might want to give off a vampy look. ... then you wear red lipstick and smoky eyes. it depends...i hope i helped you with my answer ...xxx
i use maybelline foundation at moment! use the everfresh one thats good for fair skin! found bourjois eye shadows are pretty good too, i have blue eyes, and find white pinks n browns look quite good! lancome juicy tubes are defo best lipgloss around u should defo purchase sum of that!!! although a use that makeup at moment am goin to buy some of the new jemma kidd range think mite try it out. dont kno if it any good tho yet! but they sell it at boots u mite want to check it out! x x
I would suggest asking a friend/work colleague who is of a similar age and colouring for her advice (assuming you like the way she does her make up). Don't go to a beauty counter in department store for a make up lesson like I did. The make up was heavy, I looked older and it was so thick I needed a spatula to scrape it off!!
the best thing to do is to go into a department store and ask them to try it for you. try foundation on your jaw line, not the back of your hand as it's not the same shade.

get a free makeover... most big shops do it.

with make up you have to experiment

    this is the fun part.
you don't want anything too dark, maybe a light coloured pinkish blusher, black mascara and a bit of lip gloss. i'd go to a beauty counter say in Boots and ask them what they'd recommend too. More is less with make up though and as your fair i wouldn't over do it.
I am very fair as well, i stay out of the sun and use good sun block. I have blue/green eyes and light Blond hair - i found Christian Dior's liquid foundation has a nice light colour which blends and covers really well - expensive but lasts for at less six months because of the quality, worth every penny. Stick to light colours and neutral lipsticks which are a few shades darker then your natural complexion for every day makeup or a lip-gloss (darker for evening). I good blusher can help - again be careful to not go to dark - test in the shop if you are in the pink or orange range as this can look wrong if you go for the incorrect shade.

A good everyday style for eye shadow is a pearl base colour on the lid (for the sparkle mostly) and a small amount of black (or dark colour to match outfit of the day) just along the edge near the lashes - only go to the centre of the eye. Remember less is more - if you apply it well the natural look will get plenty of complements. Mascara to finish it off - i have dark lashes so i wear clear mascara which helps control the shape and cleans off any fallen powder from putting the makeup on. Good luck - experiment and enjoy.

Firstly you have to check which colour season you belong to 鈥?Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter. This is because different seasons will fit different shades of a same colour. One book will be helpful :- Colour Me Beautiful. It teaches you how to see which season you belong to by the colour of your skin, eyes and hair and thus what shades would fit you for clothing, lipstick, foundation, etc.
first you see which eyeshadow one looks good on you then you see which lip stick, and all that until you find the one that match your color.

Is liquid make up the same thing as foundation?

yes liquid makeup is considered foundation-but w/ neutrogena mineral sheers i recommend using the liquid makeup along with the mineral sheers powder b/c the liquid alone provides very little coverageIs liquid make up the same thing as foundation?
It is the EXACT same thing.

I suggest you head to your nearest makeup counter in a higher end retail store and get a cosmetic evaluation. There is very clearly a lot you need to learn before you start to wear makeup.
Yes, it is the same, unless it specifies that it is a Mineral or Powder Foundation.
yeah theyre basically the same. well its the same as liquid foundation. not powder though

yeah its pretty mush the same (:

REALLY IMPORTANT make up foundation question?

i've got moderately normal skin that gets blemishes once in a while and my face is a tad bit oily at times.

i like the dewy luminous glow of a Lancome liquid foundation but i sweated it off after gym class at school, but thats cuz i didnt use powder to set it

this coming school year, i dont have to take gym anymore and im wondering whether i'll still be able to get away with liquid foundation if i set it with a mineral powder/

or do u think i should buy powder foundation instead of liquid.

will the powder undo the glowiness of the liquid foundation?REALLY IMPORTANT make up foundation question?
If you have an uneven skin tone, or any red you want to cover up, I suggest keeping with the liquid. Powder doesn't cover as well, and I find that it doesn't stay on as well.

But, if you decide to go with powder, you don't need to forgo the glow! You can buy frosty (but not cheap-looking) blush! The kind I like is cheap, great-looking, and stays on: N.Y.C. cheek glow! Just sweep it on the upper part of your cheekbones, or wherever else you want to highlight!

:)REALLY IMPORTANT make up foundation question?
If you like glowiness...try the NoHoGlo foundation from LA Minerals. Powder and glow all in one!

they have samples on their site you can try. I use the Hollywood formula, which has just a natural glow, but sometimes when I'm feeling dreary or dull I put the NoHoGlo on top of it;)

    Oh..btw...it doesn't sweat off either...i love that!
Not if its Translucent Powder you can always use MAC luster drops

    Pro active make up foundation?

I have had bad acne breakouts since i was 14 years old I am now 22 years old and my acne is still here. I have bought all types of over the counter ance treatments and nothing gives me the clear skin I want. So - I know wearing foundation does not make it better but seriously my self esteem has never been so low because of it. I NEED TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE WHO WEARS THE PRO ACTIVE FOUNDATION AND WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT IT PLEASE. I've also heard MUFE HD foundation works well too. There are lot's out there, ya just gotta try 'em all. I would say find a few foundations for different types of skin tones. Maybe a full coverage, a tinted moisturizer, a powder, a mineral foundation and a foundation stick. As for the eyeliner, definitely check out the Urban Decay 24/7 liners, they come in a huge variety of colors and last all day. Good luck and I hope i helped :-)

    Help with make-up (foundation)?

ok, so i have my leavers ball next thursday and i have bought some foundation (that maybelline dream satin liquid foundation, some rimmel compressed powder, rimmel cool matte mouse foundation, a rimmel blemish concaler stick and some other stuff).

i have tried to put it on, but it sometimes looks too cakey (and i dont put that much on) and like dark circles still show through, and this stuff that apparently makes your face pore less isn't doing its job. What order should i put the make up on in and do you have any advice on how to make my skin lookpore lesss?? or am i just not using it right??

please help me out! any video links, advice on what i can treat my skin with before with, or what i can do would be fab!!!

    thank you so much!

    xxHelp with make-up (foundation)?
Try exfoliating your skin (I recommend St Ives Exfoliating Wash) and then moisturising before you apply your foundation. Let the moisturiser dry in completely before you attempt to put foundation on or it will cake up.

Use a wedge sponge or a foundation brush to apply the foundation. It sounds to me like your skin is dry or there are dead skin cells on the surface of your face and therefore the foundation doesn't have a good surface to stick to. By removing them you will leave a smoother surface for the foundation to blend over/into. I had the same problem as you and then I tried this and it works every time for me now :)

As for the dark circles try to find a concealer especially for dark circles as opposed to blemishes. What you're essentially doing (purely judging by what you said - I don't know the ins and outs of the concealer you're using so it could be for dark circles as well as blemishes, I don't know. I'm judging by what I have read.) is trying to cover darkness with something that's meant to cover redness. Try a concealer with a green colour base (lots of drugstore brands make them) because this will offer better correction to the darker areas. If you don't have one or can't find one of these then you could try a concealer mixed with an illuminating product because this will help lighten the area too.

As for the order of your makeup I'd say apply foundation first then a pressed powder over the top to keep it in place. Then apply concealer. If you apply concealer and then pressed powder you might take off your concealer with your brush so do that part last.Help with make-up (foundation)?

How to make make up foundation/powder less obvious in the sunlight?

I wear foundation to even out my skin tone and hide the flaws. I usually just spread the foundation over my face evenly with sunlight streaming through my window blinds. Sometimes, I even put foundation on right outside with a mirror. Then, I put powder on to set it and to take away shine.

To the point: The problem is, you can always see the foundation on my face in the natural sunlight. It's not that I cake it on, you can just tell. Any tips or ways on how to make it less obvious?

pleeeeease =\How to make make up foundation/powder less obvious in the sunlight?

laura geller sells the same kind of air brush and air brush tools as professional make up artist do and it's not expensive it's like 30$ for the make up and air brush so it's a really good deal and i'm almost 100% sure you won't be able to tell your wearing foundation if you air brush make up on your face
That means you have the wrong shade on the shade should blend with your skin tone not just sit on it. Is your shade honestly to light or to dark? You should go to a department store and choose a good natural looking foundation and have them choose the correct shade for you.

MAC MAKE UP FOUNDATION COLOR QUESTION?

Okay so theres Oprah and theres kelly rowland..Im in the middle far as complexion goes. I recently went to MAC in Macy's to get their studio fix fluid, and the girl who worked there said that i was nw 50 after applying it to my jaw line. problem is, i think that i am a little lighter than that. Somebody told me that if I look at my veins, and the green or blue, then that means I have gold/yellowish undertones, which means I should be NC which are slightly ligher than NW. What do you think or know about this? please help me out, thanks.

MAC MAKE UP FOUNDATION COLOR QUESTION?
The vein trick isn't always accurate. I'm sure the makeup artist probably got the NW part right, but you may be more like NW40. They also have a few in between shades in some foundations like NW43 or NW47 in the Studio Fix Fluid. I say just go back to Macy's and try them out. Swipe a few on your cheek down do your jawline and see which blends in best :)MAC MAKE UP FOUNDATION COLOR QUESTION?
If you say your in between Oprah and kelly rowland than I agree nw50 is way too dark. I would say probably nw30 or nw35. Remember they don't always match it exactly so you can't take their word for it. Take a foundation you already use match it up with the mac foundation. Pick the one that come closes to the color.

    Natural Make-up...foundation etc. help!?

Hi, i have an uneven skin tone and that includes freckles I don't want. I've tried TruBlend liquid foundation, and Smart Shade but yet, it doesn't work! I haven't found the right foundation that is blends in great, covers what I want covered, and keep it that way without being cakey or unnatural. I don't want to look fake! All these models use this make-up and it looks terrific and honestly, I don't care for the price that much, but it has to be good and worth it! PLEASE! Does anybody know of a wonderful foundation?! I've heard Bare Minerals is good but that could be a lie..Natural Make-up...foundation etc. help!?
CoverGirl Clean Makeup. I'm telling you this stuff is amazing. Its inexpensive, doesnt have an odor, doesnt clog your pores, and has amazing coverage. It is very light weight on your face too. It does cover freckles, because i have freckles and it covers them up pretty well. =)Natural Make-up...foundation etc. help!?
Bare Minerals is a good foundation, I just could not wear it because I am sensitive to the bismuth ingredient in it. I am using kms mineral essentials now. It is the same quality makeup that does everything bare minerals does without the bismuth and the big pricetag.
I have problem skin myself. I have large pores and redness, and I've tried a whole bunch of different foundations. The only thing I've used that helps has been mineral make-up, specifically Sheer Cover. It comes with a tiny concealer pot that works miracles (as long as you get the right shade), and the coverage is absolutely gorgeous! it doesn't look caked on, and it has a very nice glow to it... plus for about 25 bucks you get a great deal of other products to finish off your look and it lasts for months!! Hope this helps!

And please don't focus on what models look like!!! They've been digitally enhanced!!!!
Try either Bare or Raw minerals. If you aren't comfortable trusting those, try airbrush makeup. Its worth the price.
Bare minerals is the BEST and it's not a lie.. I got my friends into it because it looks so natural and you can even sleep with the makeup on.

Need make up foundation problem ?

why does my make up show soo much outside leik in the sun and even without the sun

i use the light in my room and it looks perfect but when i go outside my friends are like wow you are wearing alot of make up and im not. whats wrong

btw i use covergirl liquid foundation. it looks dry on my skin so i put on vaseline with it. and by the end of the day it looks soo oily. what shoudl i do to pervent that from happening. and summers on its way i got to look leik im not wearing makeup

and also dont say dont wear make up. it doesnt happen to my frends they wear cream foudation and it looks all natural even in the sun

please and thank yu love you guys =DNeed make up foundation problem ?
You should buy a lighted mirror ones like these http://www.conair.com/bath-lighted-mirro鈥?/a> and apply your makeup in front if it. The room where you currently put on your makeup is probably too dark and makes the flaws dissappear. If you don't want to buy that mirror (even though it is a great investment) then put your makeup on outside and try to change your foundation becuase it's obviously not right for your skin tone/type. Use the right colored concealer for trouble spots and blend well then apply mineral powder foundation all over your face and light mineral blush on the cheeks. Mineral makeup lasts longer and looks extremely natural, most mineral makeup stays put and flawless even after 2 hour jog! (I know from experience). Good luck!Need make up foundation problem ?
Cover Girl is infamous for their over-stated undertones, which could be the main problem. They become too pink or too orange and look fake, even if they're the perfect color match. Try switching to another brand, like L'Oreal or Maybelline, and see if you have the same problem. The other problem could be that the lighting where you apply your makeup is darker than natural sunlight. Darker lighting is a lot more forgiving, and could make it look like you're foundation is the right shade when it's not.
try putting your makeup on out in the sunlight and ask your friends what foundation they use. hope it helps!!!!
i don't really like liquid foundation because it has the tendency to look heavy or caked on. if you want to keep using liquid foundation, you could mix it about half and half with face lotion (try something with SPF!) in a little bottle. this will give you coverage and moisturizer, and you can use the pure liquid foundation for undereye circles or major blemishes.

another option is switching to a mineral powder foundation, like bare minerals. it's a bit more expensive, but it lasts a really long time, so really, you can save money. i only buy two foundations a year, at a little over $20 each. the coverage is great, and it looks very natural if you follow the directions. it also is a lot better for your skin than liquid foundations because there are not as many chemicals and it's hypoallergenic.

i hope you find something that works for you!
It may be too thick so it looks unnatural on your skin. Try going for a lighter foundation like a powder, sheer liquid or spray. Don't use a sponge to apply your liquid foundation - use a brush/your clean fingers and spread well. Putting a bit of water on your face can help make the foundation less thick and easier to spread around.

That and wash your face REALLY well before you apply makeup and don't put it on for too long or too much. Try changing brands of foundation. It may help and ask a staff member in the makeup section to recommend some good light foundations.

Face make up- foundation, powder, concealer?

    Hey

so im looking for a good face make up thats high end.

Ive tried urban decay (liquid foundation, concealer, and powder)- looks good, kinda caky for the first 20min but starts coming off after 4 hrs. I LOVE the coverage of urban decay.

should i just buy that or is there something better...it costs 70 bux

Im also interested in MAC, but does it really have a flawless look like urban decay?

Also im not interested in BARE escentualsFace make up- foundation, powder, concealer?
MAC is the best it has great coverage and not cakey.Face make up- foundation, powder, concealer?
ive tried almost everything and i personally dont like urban decay for the same reaosn that you mentioned.. and also it isnt the best for your skin. MAC is good... but its mostly good for young skin, if your not too keen on covering up bad blemishes than it is fine. the only thing that i use form them now from time to time is thier powder concealer. but my favorite two... and i have tried A LOT!! are chanel and perscriptives..

Chanel has really good foundation.. and whats really good about one of them is that it had medium coverage but you can layer it so you can have full covergae where needed. the only bad thing I would say about it is that if you have oily skin dont use it. If you have oily skin then use perscriptives foundation. they have one made for oily skin and it has good coverage. best concealer is from perscriptiives and my favorite two powders are from chanel and then for a light powder use MAC.

    those are my current faves.

felt like Clinique foundatioon was a bit greasy and heavy on my face. and mac never seemed to cover those bad blemisheds whenever i got them.

I've been using it for 2 years now and it's been nothing but wonderful to me. Go to Nordstrom's or the bare mineral store and ask them if they can put it on you.

  • Make Up/ Foundation Help?

I don't exactly have a bunch of acne I want to cover up, but I do have quite a few scars from the acne. They show up as little red splotches or something similar, and are really hard to conceal.

I was wondering what would be the best type/brand/etc. of foundation to use? Or if there are any really good spot concealers out there as well?

My face is somewhat oily, but the scars tend to show up red and ';angry,'; if you get what I mean, and it's really hard to conceal. I'm working on getting everything cleared up, but does anyone have any suggestions in the meantime?

    Thanks. =]Make Up/ Foundation Help?
i dont know if you have ever heard about mineral makeup? but i have really bad problem skin, and am never satisfied with what i get from regular makeup - i checked this stuff out, even though im a sceptic, and not into spending a lot of money (bc it IS more towards the expensive side) but it works really well!!!!!!! i wish i could explain, but you should just go and have them show you how to do it, - dont know where youre from, but sephora is what we have around here, a store in the mall thats hosts many brands of makeup --- anyways. the stuff works wonders!!! i just think its the best thing since sliced bread, lol, or whatever.Make Up/ Foundation Help?

    try bare minerals.

i use that and then mac blush

lets your skin breathe and doesnt cause any trouble spots.
