You should buy a lighted mirror ones like these http://www.conair.com/bath-lighted-mirro鈥?/a> and apply your makeup in front if it. The room where you currently put on your makeup is probably too dark and makes the flaws dissappear. If you don't want to buy that mirror (even though it is a great investment) then put your makeup on outside and try to change your foundation becuase it's obviously not right for your skin tone/type. Use the right colored concealer for trouble spots and blend well then apply mineral powder foundation all over your face and light mineral blush on the cheeks. Mineral makeup lasts longer and looks extremely natural, most mineral makeup stays put and flawless even after 2 hour jog! (I know from experience). Good luck!Need make up foundation problem ?
Cover Girl is infamous for their over-stated undertones, which could be the main problem. They become too pink or too orange and look fake, even if they're the perfect color match. Try switching to another brand, like L'Oreal or Maybelline, and see if you have the same problem. The other problem could be that the lighting where you apply your makeup is darker than natural sunlight. Darker lighting is a lot more forgiving, and could make it look like you're foundation is the right shade when it's not.
try putting your makeup on out in the sunlight and ask your friends what foundation they use. hope it helps!!!!
i don't really like liquid foundation because it has the tendency to look heavy or caked on. if you want to keep using liquid foundation, you could mix it about half and half with face lotion (try something with SPF!) in a little bottle. this will give you coverage and moisturizer, and you can use the pure liquid foundation for undereye circles or major blemishes.
another option is switching to a mineral powder foundation, like bare minerals. it's a bit more expensive, but it lasts a really long time, so really, you can save money. i only buy two foundations a year, at a little over $20 each. the coverage is great, and it looks very natural if you follow the directions. it also is a lot better for your skin than liquid foundations because there are not as many chemicals and it's hypoallergenic.
i hope you find something that works for you!
It may be too thick so it looks unnatural on your skin. Try going for a lighter foundation like a powder, sheer liquid or spray. Don't use a sponge to apply your liquid foundation - use a brush/your clean fingers and spread well. Putting a bit of water on your face can help make the foundation less thick and easier to spread around.
That and wash your face REALLY well before you apply makeup and don't put it on for too long or too much. Try changing brands of foundation. It may help and ask a staff member in the makeup section to recommend some good light foundations.
